Good location, nice decor, not very hospitable
The location of this place is great, a short walk from Hotel Inglaterra and I felt safe in the area. The roof terrace is nice and the decor in the hotel is wonderful. The room is really nice and generally clean but the toilet could have been cleaner. I arrived early and they accommodated an early check in. There is no lift and about two flights of narrow stairs. The owner was very nice.
On the negative side, I found some of the staff pretty rude. I asked if there was a communal shower I could possibly use after check out and before a long night flight. There was a communal bathroom but they seemed really unhappy about me doing this, they did allow it in the end if I used my own towel. I didn't understand the need to be difficult for this and it wasn't very hospitable. (Note that during my stay there was a temporary problem with hot water and they asked me to shower elsewhere which was fine with me, but in turn, it was not fine with them when I wanted to use this shower before my flight. They sorted out the water problem quickly). On my last day, one of the staff was knocking on my door 15 mins before my check out time to tell me that I needed to go. I had to show him my reservation to confirm the check out time. Probably wouldn't stay here again because of the poor service.
