"Good location, not in middle of bars & restaurants"
Check in was quick and organized; our room was ready and very spacious. I don't know when it was built, but the room was a little 'worn'. We were on the ground level right by the pool; music at night could be heard but was not overwhelming. Guests who swam late night respected others by not being too loud. The kitchen/dining/living area was off the front porch patio, with glass doors & also had a screen which was good to keep mosquitoes out. Bedroom was a good size with a tiny balcony and clothes line to hang wet clothes. Kitchen was ok - but there was no dish soap in order to clean anything you may have dirtied. Bathroom needed updating; the shower area just 'felt' dirty with water spots on the walls which weren't tiled. Pool was very nice; Restaurant service was very nice. Decent breakfast buffet although not much for myself as a vegan. Loved the fact that the local cat and dog were not run away but allowed to chill and hang out at the restaurant; they were removed only if the guests requested it. It's a pet-friendly hotel! :) Right across the street from the beach, this is a nice location - not far from the more center of town and bars and restaurants I thought it was a great spot to stay in Las Terrenas.

Too many people trying to sell "time-shares" in the hotel system. Other then that, we had a very nice time.

"Fabulous views of Samana Bay"
We spent two nights, mid-week, and had the place almost exclusively for ourselves. Weekends are always very busy according to the staff. The steep hill is overwhelmingly difficult especially in the heat, and to have to walk up it any time you wanted to go to the bar or restaurant or pool was annoying. Pool was clean and welcoming with amazing views. Water was a little too warm and not as refreshing as you'd like. Breakfast at the restaurant was nice; staff was pleasant and accomodating. I asked for avocado for my toast and they even went out to get one when they didn't have any one morning. The coffee was strong, but not hot enough for my liking. We ordered dinner for 'room service' one night and everything was perfect. The room - actually a full condo set-up - was wonderful. Huge balcony off the living room and the bedroom with lounges and a table and chairs with that wonderful bay view. Living/dining/kitchen was spacious; we enjoyed making our own coffee and the full refridgerator for our drinks and snack items we brought with us. Bathroom was extremely clean, although the sink and toilet area were a little cramped due to the door position. I loved the shower's open stall and tiles. Very nicely designed (not the sink area though). We had a problem with room safe though which was very disappointing. Two private beaches were quaint but not very 'swim friendly'. We enjoyed Las Galeras beaches instead. CHeck-in and Check-out was quick and organized.

    Samana Hotel Guide

Are you dreaming of a secluded destination for your next tropical holiday? Get ready to feel the warm sand tickling your toes in Samana. This dreamy province in the Dominican Republic provides more than its fair share of beautiful beaches, rolling, mountains, and silent coves. Since its discovery by Christopher Columbus in 1493, this spot has enjoyed a relatively low profile. Even though many beautiful Samana hotels and resorts pepper the palm-line lagoons here, mystery and seclusion remain. Sip coffee in a European-style portico while thousands of humpback whales play in the distance. Dance to merengue music under an amber moon. Enjoy a twist of coconut in your drink while salty waves from the Atlantic Ocean massage your skin. Expedia is here to put a twist on the way you book vacations. Follow our footprints in the sand to learn how to plan the holiday of a lifetime.
