Brazil is the heart of this continent. There are more than 1,000 islands surrounding the coastline of Brazil's North Atlantic Ocean. The beaches offer spectacular views, and the water is crystal clear. The people of Brazil take great pride in their heritage. Celebrations occur often in the form of parades and festivals. It is a colourful place with breathtaking scenery. Brazil is a must-see country on a tour of South America.

The amazing natural wonders of the continent should not be missed. The Iguazu Falls, located on the border of Paraná, Brazil, and Misionesis, Argentina, is made up of 275 separate waterfalls. Catwalks make it easy to get close to the misting waters and offer the best possible views. Be prepared to get a little damp as the water splashes back to cool you on a warm summer day.

There are plenty of fun places to visit in Colombia. Take a volcanic mud bath at Volcano Totumo. You cannot miss travelling through the coffee region. Coffee is one of the largest industries in Colombian exports. The coffee is grown and manufactured in Manizeles. The views in this agricultural area will take your breath away. A trek across the mountains of Colombia is an absolute must-do activity while visiting this region. If water sports are more your style, there are plenty of those in Colombia as well. It is a paradise retreat that offers a grand holiday experience.

The sights and sounds of South America are just one decision away. The country is a colourful expanse of beauty and fun. The landscapes envelop you as locals say "welcome" with open arms. It is an inventive culture that clings to its past heritage while forging ahead into the future. The mountains are calling your name. It might be time you answered that call.

    Regal Pacific Buenos Aires

25 De Mayo, 764, Buenos Aires - Map
"Great small hotel with large five star standards"
This hotel is central for the fab (expensive) restaurants located along the river side and for the shopping area of Florida Avendida. The staff are super friendly and very informative about local bars and tourist sites. Rooms facing the poolside have open aspects and a building looks on to roadside rooms. The hotel kindly arranged a birthday cake for my husband and supplied glasses and ice-bucket for my duty-free champagne.

    "Great Central hotel"
A reasonably priced and centrally located hotel. Good gym. Excellent breakfast. We could walk to most sites. Only downside was the tiny room. We're small people and we found the room a tad claustrophobic.

    "A gem in San Telmo"
It's not the fanciest place, but its authentic San Telmo. The staff was great and very accommodating. The first day I arrived was at 4am. Unfortunately I couldn't check in at that hour, as they had no rooms available, but they were kind enough to set me up in the lounge which was quiet and comfortable. Throughout my stay the staff was very accommodating and easy to work with. I would stay here again in a heart beat.

    Windsor Excelsior Hotel

Avenida Atlantica 1800, Rio de Janeiro - Map
"Close to the beach, comfy and not that pricey"
For the price they charge, Windsor Excelsior was a wonderful option. The staff is very friendly and respectful and the rooms are nice and comfortable. The food was great and the service was exceptional. The hotel is right by the beach and the hotel offers chairs and umbrellas for the beach which was great. The one thing I had a problem with was trying to buy a package to go to a local soccer game. Unfortunately I overpaid for a package and was told to be in the lobby by 2:30pm. I arrived at 2:05pm and was told a bus came at 2:00pm and left right away. As a result I had to come out of pocket for a cab ride to the stadium and back and the tickets I then received from the hotel had a price that was like 200% less expensive then what I paid. I got ripped off BIG time by the hotel on that one.

JW Marriott Hotel Rio de Janeiro

Avenida Atlantica, 2600 - Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro - Map
"The best Copacabana has to offer"
Located in the heart of Copacabana, the JW Marriott is certainly where you will want to be. Only a foot step from the famous beach, and close to everything else there is to do in the city. It also has all the facilities and amenities you can want and need while in vacation or traveling for work. The only downside of this beautiful hotel is that it was always out-shined by its incredible staff who were by far the highlight of the trip. I know right, not that bad of a down side! We were checked in and out by Renan who always greeted us with a big warm smile. Wanderson also helped us get the best of what JW had to offer with a true 5 star service. The Fabulous Les Clefs d'Or Concierges Carmen and Rosane genuinely made our stay an outstanding one by making sure we did not miss a thing while in Rio. From tourist activities to restaurants, bars, beaches and much more. Just ask and they will deliver! Last but not least, Susana and William. They are the sole definition of going above and beyond for the guest. The best part of the trip was to arrive to the executive lounge everyday and be greeted by them. They did not treat me like another Platinum member but rather like a true friend. I booked the JW because of its reputation, but I will come back in a heart beat just to see William and Susana again, who made me feel like family! For the hotel location, rooms, amenities, food, drinks and service, I give the JW Marriott 4 stars. The staff on the other hand gets an easy 5 diamond

    "Good location"
The hotel has a good location at paulista avenue. Rooms are just ok, kind of old. Internet speed is awful, works betteer in the lobby. Some people from the staff don't give you good information, probable they are new and Need training, for example don't know well how internacional flights work there si they don't give good advice about time to go to the AirPort.
