With covid going on our flight to Rio was changed without anything we could do about it. We tried reaching out to tbe hotel if they could change and accommodate to the days our flight had been moved to. They never gave us an answer. They didn't want to refind us the money back, we lost about $500 because they just decided thay refunding us back would not be an option for them. I can understand if one just changes their mind, but in this case it was the airline that completely changed our flight. Our only option was to cancel our whole flight or accept the changes. I tried many ways to get in contact with the hotel. Never heard back except through expedia and all they told me was that I had to contact the hotel. I did! And no one ever bothered to reply back.
I love traveling and there's nothing worse than when things like this happen and people don't take a minute to consider the situation or try to help one out.
