(1,361 reviews) Overall it was a nice place to stay for our first Aruba trip. The food and drinks were great. We did not upgrade to the Mega all inclusive package and still found great food to eat each meal. Access to the beach was very convenient and the staff was very friendly. Upon check in, the shampoo, body wash and handsoap were empty in both our bathrooms and the toilet was not working in the main bathroom. After 2 days and 4 phone calls to front desk the soap, bodywash and shampoo was refilled. The toilet was never fixed. There was also not very good water pressure in the shower making it difficult to wash my hair. The grounds were well kept and we always had a cold drink in our hand. Aside from the smaller issues we still had a great time! (93 reviews) The hotel itself is beautiful, but keep in mind that it is not a beachfront resort. You can walk down a path to Baby Beach; however, it tends to be very touristy and is rocky and not a walking beach. Baby Beach is a great place to snorkel. The service was not very good. I think part of that may be because the resort is new and they haven't worked out all of the kinks yet, but overall the customer service was lacking. We had to wait over two hours for our room to be ready, even though we arrived after the 3pm check-in time. The front desk staff repeatedly told us it would be "just 20 more minutes," but each time we checked back, the room was not available. We were told 3 separate times that, due to the inconvenience, something extra special would be waiting in our room. Unfortunately, we never received anything. Our friends who stayed in the Preferred Club had a butler who also acknowledged the issues and offered us a Bali bed for the duration of our stay as compensation. We accepted the offer, only to then be told they were sold out for the week. Due to allergies, we requested foam pillows several times but were never able to get one. As a result, I had to sleep on one of the decorative pillows from the bed because I couldn't use the standard pillows provided.
