I would love to have reviewed the Hotel Indigo if we actually got to stay there but it was closed and we were re-directed to the Sheraton across the street. I may have been a little more understanding of the situation, had it just happened recently, but this hotel has been closed for over a year. STOP TAKING RESERVATIONS FOR THIS HOTEL!!! As someone who used to work in the hotel industry, it’s very simple to shut off reservations for a particular property so I can only assume the property management company is trying to fill their sister hotel (Sheraton) across the street which I find abhorrent. What I find even more interesting about this situation is that a search of the hotel by name on google doesn’t reveal the property is closed, but if you add “closed” to your search you start finding the truth of the situation which leads me to believe there is an even more carefully orchestrated scam going on by the owners of the Indigo property. Sheraton was accommodating, but definitely not what we were expecting for our anniversary weekend in NYC.

We didn’t stay in this hotel. Unfortunately, no one informed me about any change, they move our reservation to the Sheraton Hotel in front.

When I arrived at the property to check-in, an individual stated that no one could check-in to Indigo and had to go Sheraton. I proceeded to ask the security desk and he confirmed. I went across the street to Sheraton and a rep confirmed they were honoring Indigo's reservations, but could provide no additional information. I advised that I never received a notification via email or telephone from Expedia about the hotel change. I proceeded to pay my remaining balance when I was told by staff that an additional hold of 500.00 would be required for incidentals. Inquirrd about that, because it was not noted during my initial booking with Indigo. Needless to say, I was a little aggravated at this point. I attempted to contact an Expedia rep to address my concerns about what had occurred and the additional hold amount and needless to say, it was another bad experience. This was my first time using Expedia again in years because I thought this would be a hassle free experience and it was not. I will return to booking direct with hotels. On another note, the Sheraton was nice, clean and had great Covid guidelines in place, which is the standard I expect from Marriott brand.
