While there were many negative aspects, I was pleased with the custodial staff and the location of Paramount.
The hotel is within a 5-minute walk of countless shops, bars, restaurants, theaters, and subway entrances.
The custodial staff were very amiable and were always willing to provide anything that was needed. They went above in beyond by bringing us a fuzzy blanket upon learning that we had 3 people in a room meant for 2, without us asking.
Now onto the negatives,
The lobby was very nice but do not let it fool you.
- My room was incredibly cramped and there were chips and holes in the wall and door. The walls are very thin so please keep that in mind.
- The heating/air conditioning was very problematic. When we arrived, the room was 88 degrees and we needed an engineer to fix it because the thermostat wasn't working. 2 days later, it stopped working again and the room was unbearably cold.
- The window in the bathroom leaked from condensation and rain onto the toilet paper and window sill and the shower had unidentifiable stains and marks.
- I had to pay a $200 amenity fee for below-average amenities. Online, they stated that they had irons in every room, they only had a broken steamer.
- There is only a small trash can in the bathroom and there was not even a trash can in the lobby to throw away items bigger than an empty toilet roll.
- The younger staff were understanding and had great customer service, but the older staff members were curt and fiesty.
