Area is great. The room was clean. Instructions to enter the building and the room were clear (self check-in). Not the most comfortable mattress or pillows, but you get what you pay for. There is no elevator, so it's not for everyone.

It was a small but comfortable room. Very off-putting that all of the sheets, towels and pillows have some kind of various stains on them though. An elevator would have been nice as well especially for people with luggage, but for the price it's fine I guess. Might recommend paying more for a place with an elevator if going in and out alot

This is a no frills hotel so keep that in mind when staying here. That said, the room was nice and clean and the AC was nice and cold for those hot New York summer days. The only thing was there was no soap in the shower and the one they have at the sink is attached to the wall but that wasn’t a big deal for me to buy a little bottle of shower gel. I only really need a place to sleep as I’m exploring the city the majority of the time. The location of the hotel is excellent. I’ll certainly consider here again when I return to NYC!

We arrived and stood struggling with the door while an able-bodied staff member watched from inside. The room wasn’t ready and it took a while for anyone to go look and see if there were cleaning materials. We sat on the dirty sofa under a TV set with a sit-com blaring. We were told that it would be 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, we were told it would be 20 more. A man walking around who was supposed to clean, but he decided to go outside to break down boxes. Late. For our meeting in NYC, we left without a room. Expedia should drop this property and refund our money. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEM. CHELSEA INN is horrible.

I've stayed here twice now and have officially made this the hotel i exclusively stop at when in Manhattan. The staff are extremely helpful and all deserve the respect they are due. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy. AC works well. Location is perfect for a trip to NYC. Yes, there is no elevator, but with everything else being perfect...who cares ! Thanks again for another amazing stay Chelsea Inn ❤️

The Chelsea is a great little budget hotel. It has everything you need if you're in NY to spend the majority of your time out exploring the city. My toom was pretty tiny and didn't have any windows at all but it still was convenient and was great for storing my stuff and sleeping. The bathrooms are shared but with just one other room so I only saw the other person once. The hotel is listed as "contactless" but I was able to get in touch with someone quickly and easily the couple of times I had questions. I'd recommend the Chelsea with no hesitation as long as you're not looking for something fancy
