"Out of the ordinary"
The B&B is in a 114 year old house in Harlem. The ambiance reflects its era and origin. It is clean, quiet and comfortable. A sumptuous and elegant breakfast is served. It's location, while being a long subway ride from Mid- and Lower Manhattan, is but five blocks from an express train station. It's neighborhood reflects the gradual gentrification of Harlem.

"Very nice room and good location"
The room was large and very comfortable. People at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Location is great, walking distance to many places and a subway station close by. I didn't eat at the restaurant, so. I don't know how it is. I would stay again

"Nice hotel in an interesting location"
The hotel is located one stop outside of Manhattan, which was very convenient. I had a comfortable stay, but it seems like they are still doing work on some of the infrastructure. The yellow shuttle bus that travels to 59th and Lex is a nice touch. Rooms were fine and comfortable. Pillows were a little weak and the glass bathroom doors kept scraping against the floor whenever opened. Overall, no complaints and would likely stay here again.

"Cool Hotel, Great Location, Great Stay"
We had an excellent stay at McCarren. Having only stayed in Manhattan before we decided to try out Williamsburg. We weren't disappointed and the hotel was a key part of that. We were very impressed with the standard of the accommodation, the downstairs restaurant and the roof top bar. We knew to expect that the rooms would not be massive, but were impressed with the spec of the bathrooms, even the radio/docking station was a nice touch. The bed was so comfortable it is a wonder that we managed to get up. The restaurant menu, although a little limited, had some interesting dishes, and a very good beer selection. We found all of the staff we dealt with to be polite, friendly, and helpful and some went beyond in terms of sorting out stuff for us. We were a month too early for the pool unfortunately, but hopefully we'll get to try it in the future.

"Nice hotel close to time square"
Great hotel near time square. Food at hotel was very good, and roof top bar was really nice. Rooms were small, but that is to be expected in New York City. Great staff!

"Nice rooms/shabby public areas"
The room was nice and light, the bed was comfortable. Great maid service, very clean. The hotel is in need of an update though (which I think is underway) the public areas were a little shabby. Friendly staff. I'd stay there again.

"Lovely boutique hotel close to all tourist sites"
Made to feel welcome from arrival, lovely helpful staff. The lounge with complimentary breakfast, coffee machine and afternoon cheese and wine was a lovely touch and a welcome break after a day of site seeing. It made all the difference from large chain hotels with a wonderful personal touch . The rooms were quiet and comfortable and deco classic bogey style. It was our 25th wedding anniversary ... Thank you for acknowledging this.

You can also sit on the beach together and watch the sun set into the waves as the first stars make their appearance.
