"Out of the ordinary"
The B&B is in a 114 year old house in Harlem. The ambiance reflects its era and origin. It is clean, quiet and comfortable. A sumptuous and elegant breakfast is served. It's location, while being a long subway ride from Mid- and Lower Manhattan, is but five blocks from an express train station. It's neighborhood reflects the gradual gentrification of Harlem.

"Lovely hotel in convenient location "
We traveled to NYC to see a Broadway show. The location was ideal-we were easy walking distance to Broadway, Central Park, the MOMA, and shopping. The Michaelangelo is a lovely boutique hotel with excellent service and quiet, comfortable rooms. We look forward to visiting again!

"Possibly best views of Manhattan Island"
Z Hotel is a little far from the bulk of attractions and things to do in NYC, however this worry was overshadowed by the views we got from our room on the 10th floor. The view at night of the Manhattan skyline was almost unreal, with the Queensboro Bridge in full view on our right. The area, being predominantly industrial, is relatively quiet and safe and we had no trouble walking to subway stations which were at most 10mins away, and there are convenience stores nearby. It is close to MoMA PS1 and a few amazing restaurants: Mu Ramen and Dutch Kills. It is also close to Tom Cat bakery whose aroma of baked bread fills the streets in the morning! The hotel room is adequate and comfortable, and staff are friendly.

"Cool Hotel, Great Location, Great Stay"
We had an excellent stay at McCarren. Having only stayed in Manhattan before we decided to try out Williamsburg. We weren't disappointed and the hotel was a key part of that. We were very impressed with the standard of the accommodation, the downstairs restaurant and the roof top bar. We knew to expect that the rooms would not be massive, but were impressed with the spec of the bathrooms, even the radio/docking station was a nice touch. The bed was so comfortable it is a wonder that we managed to get up. The restaurant menu, although a little limited, had some interesting dishes, and a very good beer selection. We found all of the staff we dealt with to be polite, friendly, and helpful and some went beyond in terms of sorting out stuff for us. We were a month too early for the pool unfortunately, but hopefully we'll get to try it in the future.

"Great location "
We had a great experience. The description of the room was misleading, it said room with a view, or something similar to that. When we arrived we were told this included an interior view of not much at all. That was a deciding factor for us in choosing it, so disappointed it wasn't as it was described. Still was a great trip over all.

"Nice rooms/shabby public areas"
The room was nice and light, the bed was comfortable. Great maid service, very clean. The hotel is in need of an update though (which I think is underway) the public areas were a little shabby. Friendly staff. I'd stay there again.

"Beautiful boutique hotel "
We enjoyed our stay at the James and will continue to stay at this small but lovely hotel. Rooms. The room was small but thoughtfully laid out. The view and open bathroom created the illusion of space and we did not feel cramped. The linens were butter soft and the bed was very comfortable. The provided water was appreciated. The bathroom was clean and modern. We loved the rainfall shower. Staff. All staff that we encountered were friendly and knowledgable. They were able to answer all our questions with a smile. Grounds. We appreciated the spaces and amenities provided to guests. This is what made this hotel stand out from the rest in which we have stayed. The sky lobby was comfortable and the coffee, pastries, wine, cheese, fruit provided made us feel at home. The garden space was beautiful and we had a amazing lunch at Kitchen. In addition we spent a peaceful afternoon lounging by the serene rooftop pool. I have to return frequently to NYC and will likely stay here in the future.

"Luxury with personalized service......."
we have stayed at many high end hotels in NYC. While they are all opulent and luxurious, the Chatwal combines luxury with personalized service. They are quick to attend to your every need! the Hotel is second to none and the staff make you feel special in a very personal way. No arrogance or attitude as you may receive in many of the high end hotels. From the front desk, to the concierge, doormen and cleaning staff, you quickly feel part of the Chatwal family. This is certainly our go to hotel from this point forward.

Casablanca Hotel

"Niceness close to Times Square"
The Casablanca is an oasis of quiet amidst the hubbub of Times Square. It's central, friendly and very pleasant. The small nature of the boutique hotel is a positive, while the room size and views weren't great. But then, it's the centre of New York so that's almost a given. Breakfast (continental) has plenty of choice, while the 5pm cheese and wine receptions were a nice touch. Good wifi (free) throughout. Lots of free bottled water too which is an essential for NYC in July.
