"Privacy needed"
Very hard and uncomfortable bed...terrible nights sleep and back pain all the next day. No privacy at all in the shower, we were exposed to everyone because of the pretty, yet not functional glass window. Would have been nice to know about the daily wine from noon to 6. Unfortunately, we checked in later and could not take advantage of this.

"First Rate!"
The staff at the Peninsula went over and above to accommodate us. I celebrated my 50th birthday there and upon arrival was given a complementary upgrade. Shortly after checking in, room service arrived with a birthday cake and champagne (also complementary) to kick off the celebration.

"Lovely hotel, close to everything"
I can't say enough good about this hotel & it's wonderful staff. The location is in the heart of Williamsburg where all the cool spots are walkable. The hotel is charming, very clean & maintained. A winter stay, so nice & quiet. I understand it's more lively when the pool is open. The staff made my stay, especially Martin (gosh, I hope I got his name right). If I needed my room cleaned late in the day, it was done. When I needed a car to Manhattan, it was there within minutes. When it was sensed I was having a particularly bad day, I was given a complimentary drink card for the bar. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate their guests, which is what you want when you're paying a premium. As a woman traveling solo, I felt very safe & secure. Rooms were on the small end (typical for NY), but so clean, cozy & comfortable. I stayed in a king room with balcony overlooking the park. Best hotel in Williamsburg, in my opinion. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

"5 star luxury"
stayed in a deluxe room on the 17th floor looking down on 5th avenue, room was massive with every luxury you could ask for, from your room key to work the lift, tv in your mirror in the bathroom, turn down service at night, slippers and water and cookie left at bed,.coffee maker, fridge Staff could not have been nicer, from reception to the guys on the door, personally would have liked a tea making facility as i dont drink coffee, but this was available at reception on way out. Booked through expedia and got a room and flight deal but due to the heavy snow had to extend my room for one night and $$$$$, the room was pricey for the one night and that was with a discount, but you are in a 5 star hotel and you do get what you pay for, Breakfast was nice in second floor restaurant, great service!! great place to stay in the centre of manhattan. Hopefully will go back some day.

Live out the quintessential East Coast fairy tale by taking a horse-drawn carriage ride through Central Park. Enjoy a picnic on the grass and make a game out of people-watching. Speaking of people-watching, you can’t miss out on going to Brooklyn’s Coney Island; walk hand-in-hand on the boardwalk while sharing a hot dog and a soda, and check out the sea of humanity that sweeps through the neighbourhood on a daily basis. You can also sit on the beach together and watch the sun set into the waves as the first stars make their appearance. While in midtown, don’t forget a trip to the Empire State Building, where you can declare your love with the famous skyline around you.

When you take your honey back to a romantic hotel, a New York trip becomes even more special. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and relax in the on-site spa, where you can opt for a couples massage or separate treatments. Arrange for a special meal to be brought up via room service, and enjoy a candlelit dinner in front of your window – the city makes a fantastic backdrop. If you’re still trying to impress your partner, surprise them with a small token of your appreciation from the gift shop. The cheesier, the better.
