New York Renaissance Home and Guest House

"Out of the ordinary"
The B&B is in a 114 year old house in Harlem. The ambiance reflects its era and origin. It is clean, quiet and comfortable. A sumptuous and elegant breakfast is served. It's location, while being a long subway ride from Mid- and Lower Manhattan, is but five blocks from an express train station. It's neighborhood reflects the gradual gentrification of Harlem.

"Great midtown location"
Our experience did not start well as when we went to check in we were told that due to a double booking there wasn't a room for us. As bad as it sounds, this turned out to be just a small inconvenience as the hotel transferred us to a nice room in a sister hotel near Central Park and did all they could to compensate for the double booking. This is a nice, quiet hotel in a great location in midtown. I would still recommend this hotel in spite of the room incident.

"Great place to be pampered"
From the moment I checked in (which was early) I was whisked away to a magical land where I mattered. At very turn there was someone to help me. Fresh fruit, a cool essential oil towel and a bottle of water to refresh me. Gorgeous linens, my name on the tv welcoming me. Turn down service.... every time I called the desk for something I was greeted personally with my name. I'll always stay here. Loved it. I didn't want to leave.

"Location and style"
Room was modern and comfortable (only minor complaint, pillows way too soft). Hotel stay could not be improved, we loved the room, the location was absolutely terrific and the concierge made our brief stay in NYC even better. In fact, the concierge gave us excellent recommendations on lunch, advice on getting around and best of all, hints on getting great theater tickets to a great show. Another perk, their rooftop bar Haven has reasonable happy hour drinks from 4-7pm. We will definitely be staying here in the future!

Hottest couple of days in years and our Hotel was a haven to cool off in, crisp, white sheets, incredibly comfortable bed and super strength air-conditioning! Breakfasts were lovely, staff was so helpful and polite without being cloying. I never take time to write reviews, but this little spot was a perfect fit for our needs and we loved the location/accessibility. Thank you Hotel on Rivington for being such a wonderful home away from home

Great location for Times Square and all the transport links uptown and downtown. We had a junior suite which was a very comfortable room with plenty of space for a rollaway bed for our child. We were easy undemanding guests but our few requests were dealt with very quickly and efficiently.
