It's proximity to the L had its pros and cons. The only con being the noise but it was so minimal that you only heard it while sitting on the window...

When is the best time to go to Chicago?
The best time to go to Chicago is usually during the spring (late April to early June) or autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the city is buzzing with activity.
During spring, the city emerges from winter, with blooming flowers and milder temperatures, making it ideal for walking tours and enjoying outdoor spaces like Millennium Park. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, and events like the Chicago Cubs' baseball season begin.
Autumn offers crisp air, beautiful fall foliage, particularly along the Chicago Riverwalk and in Lincoln Park, and a comfortable climate for exploring. This season also sees a variety of cultural festivals and events, such as Open House Chicago, which allows access to architecturally significant buildings usually closed to the public.
