"Convenient location for government business."
The location is very convenient for me for work and parking. Good restaurants are nearby. Staff are very accommodating and check-in is a breeze. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the design of the rooms is relaxing. I always enjoy my stay at Monaco and other Kimpton locations.

"Great for downtown theaters"
The shower/bathroom was the best we have seen in a hotel in a long time. Even though they are under construction, service and guest hospitality were amazing.

"Best hotel I've stayed in."
Hands down. Very chic, comfortable, and just overall cool. One of the staff said they're expanding to other states and I can't wait to stay in them on my next trip.

"Very Clean Hotel with Beautiful Restaurant"
I always stay here when in Chicago. The front desk makes check in very simple. It always feels like being at home with a welcoming gift in my room. The rooms are very average, minimalistic, yet still cozy and comfortable. The rooms could use some fixture updates, but they're very clean. The bathroom's quite sizable and I also had a massive walk-in closet thanks to a room upgrade upon check in. The Jean-Georges restaurant downstairs, The Pump Room, is absolutely delicious. A must visit on any stay at The Public. The scene at the bar downstairs is also quite nice over the weekend, with a sophisticated crowd and good cocktails. Highly recommend for a relatively cheap stay at a nice, comfortable hotel.

"Fun hotel close to theaters"
We stayed here overnight while in town to see Hamilton. From the moment we arrived the staff was very attentive and helpful. The room was clean, and I like that the hotel made obvious efforts to demonstrate just how clean it was. For example a card left on the bed noted that each linen was thoroughly laundered for each guest. Also, every time I encountered cleaning staff in the hallway I was asked if everything was OK in my room. I liked that. The room was spacious enough and well designed. My wife and I and our two kids stayed in a suite. The kids slept on a pullout couch and we had a semi-private bedroom. There were doors that closed, but you could still see and hear through them. But it did give everyone enough space so we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. We would definitely stay here again!

"Nice Place to Stay "
I stayed with my friend at The Whitehall Hotel for three nights. The room was comfortable, but a little dated in ways. We had a hard time with outlets and ended up having to unplug a lamp so I could charge my phone. We asked for water at the beginning of our stay and someone brought us a pitcher. We thought it was odd that there wasn't a water jug in the workout room. I wished I had done more research on the hotel before booking the room. The room was fine, but the pictures made the hotel look a lot nicer, larger, and more modern than it actually is. Our stay was fine and I would recommend it to friends and family, just not what we expected.

"Very comfortable rooms"
I loved this hotel! It was very comfortable and clean! The staff was absolutely helpful and friendly. Valet parking was extremely expensive, but after being there a couple of days, I realized that's everywhere in Chicago.

Great location, no free parking (I guess that is typical of Chicago), they do have a parking structure across the street for 30$ (reasonable compared to what other prices we saw), rooms are dated, some laminate flooring is in desperate need of repair, overall a nice place.
