"Nice hotel near the magnificent mile. "
Extremely clean hotel with all sorts of amenities that a five-star hotel should have. Room is quite spacious compared to hotels in NY and SF. Price is slightly too expensive during the weekend but reasonable on weekdays.

Great location, able to walk anywhere. Hotel itself quiet, however street noise still heard, even on the higher floors. Staff, especially bell staff, very helpful and pleasant. This was my third stay, will be back!

Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel

1551 Thoreau Dr N, Schaumburg - Map
"One of the best hotels I ever stayed in"
I have stayed in a lot of hotels in my day and the Renaissance Schaumburg is one of the best. It's not a Ritz Carlton, but I got the room for $129 a night plus taxes on Expedia and was extremely surprised by the cleanliness, the appointments and the overall condition of the room. The bathroom had marble counter and the tile flooring was shiny, spotless and smooth. The mirror in the bathroom had a television screen built into it (how did they do that?) which was a little annoying because every time I turned on the light in there, the TV came on automatically. Thankfully there was a remote I could use to flip it off, but I had to do that every time. I think they should change this to manual on, not automatic. There were no dirty carpets, dirty bedspreads, chipped woodwork or ceilings. I was totally impressed by the cleanliness and the way the room had been maintained. Nothing unpleasant to look at and very pleasing to the eye. Even the curtains felt clean to the touch and easy to control. The air conditioning was easy to adjust with a wall thermostat. I left it at 72 all weekend and it felt perfect. If I had to come up with anything I didn't like about the room, it would be the aforementioned TV in the bathroom mirror, and the bathroom faucet always seemed to not shut off all the way unless I did it twice. The bed was not soft enough for me, but that's pretty subjective I suppose. You can't go wrong at the Renaissance Schaumburg. You'll enjoy it.

While The Magnificent Mile® is one of the best places to start a vacation, it’s hardly the only thing to see in Chi-Town.

Check out the Art Institute of Chicago, which is home to over 300,000 works of art. The museum has featured everything from Byzantium and Greek collections to Japanese prints and local photography. If you like your art a little more in the air than on the ground, head to Willis Tower. Once the tallest building in America, the tower features its own historical exhibits at the top. It also includes an observation deck you can’t miss. Don’t worry if you feel a sway; the building was designed to do that. One thing you won’t mind swaying to is the music of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Commonly referred to as one of the “Big Five” orchestras in the country, it’s been generously praised for decades.

A lavish time doesn’t have to stop once you get back to your luxury hotel in Chicago. Choose a spot that offers amenities like in-house spas, 24/7 room service, and other perks to make you feel like the world-class traveller you are. And don’t worry about paying top dollar for it. Book your hotel in Chicago right here on for the best discounts on accommodations in the city, including luxury rooms and suites.

With attractions like the symphony and The Magnificent Mile® awaiting you, you can count on nothing less than an elegant time in the Windy City.
