"LOVE this place. Will definitely come back."
This is a GREAT hotel if you're looking for a romantic getaway. Clean, modern, and luxurious. It's pretty out of the way; would have preferred to stay closer to the city. But of course, because of the location it costs a little less than it otherwise might. How can you go wrong? Great place for romance. That's all I'll say about that. ;)

"Not as good as before."
I have stayed at this hotel twice before, and booked it again based on previous experience. I like the location, close to the shore front, and love the bar. We did have afternoon tea this time at the Palm Court...expensive but a nice experience. Sadly, I did not find the service as good as in previous visits. We booked a bed and breakfast deal where the front desk staff normally give you coupons for breakfast the day you check in. I didn't receive them and had to call the front desk the next morning. I went down there, and they gave me that days vouchers, telling me the rest would be put under my door - they weren't. The next morning I had to make another call and was told they were on the way to my room. 30 mins later I went to front desk again...they'd run out of vouchers, there was a mix up etc, etc. No apology for my inconvenience and a very surly faced receptionist just looked at me when I suggested they let people know what was going on instead of just doing nothing. The wait staff at breakfast were pleasant but the buffet food was cold and we waited several minutes to get coffee and juice in two of the four days. It all just seemed muddled and inefficient. I visit Chicago a few times a year, and love the character of the Drake but think I'll probably shop around prior to booking my next stay there.

"Beautiful Hotel"
The whole experience was great, we were impressed by the look of the hotel on the outside as soon as we drove up then by the lobby when we walked in. The room itself was also very nice, it had a fireplace and we stayed in one of the bigger rooms which had a separate living room area. There was a sofa bed in the living room and a king sized bed in the bedroom with a futon. The room could accommodate 5 people if someone is willing to sleep on the futon if the hotel is Ok with it of course. The staff was great, we had an issue with the getting in the room because my husband went back to the room early and fell asleep so couldn't hear the rest of us knocking and calling. I had to go to the front desk to ask about being allowed to enter and since my name wasn't on the reservation(we didn't plan on separating) they couldn't just let the rest of us in. They were very courteous about the whole thing and I'm glad to know they take the safety of their patrons seriously. They were more than willing to go in themselves and ask him first if we could be let in, thankfully he woke up before they had to do that but I was pleased with how the situation was handled by hotel staff. Overall probably the best hotel I've ever stayed at.

"Perfect location in Chicago...TERRIFIC staff"
I've stayed in Chicago many times and I've now found the only place I will stay in the future. All of the reviews are right on. So impressed with the staff. The room was so beautiful, we really didn't want to leave. However, the location was so close to everything.

Chi-Town isn’t just one of the largest cities in the United States; it’s also one of the most romantic.

Start your couples weekend by checking out one of the city’s signature attractions: the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel. Modeled after the very first Ferris wheel that debuted in Chicago’s 1893 World’s Fair, the Navy Pier Wheel has been a romantic favourite for generations. After the pier, get those creative gears really spinning when you take your partner to the Art Institute of Chicago. The centre spotlights everything from turn-of-the-century photographs, to impressionist paintings, to abstract art. If you and your partner-in-crime love improv, don’t miss a show at the Second City. This legendary improv group is considered a pseudo comedy college for budding stars. Many Second City players move on to television and movie gigs, so catch a performance before they’re gone.

When it comes to deals on your accommodations in the city, we know discounts are no laughing matter. So book right here on to find the top discounts on the best romantic hotels in Chicago. Take your pick of rooms and suites with epic window views and special amenities like in-house dining. Whether you’re on your first big trip together or it’s your anniversary, you can’t go wrong with a romantic trip to Chicago. Take in the sights while saving money on your accommodations. With the cash left over, you’ll have more than enough for an extra trip up the Ferris wheel, hand in hand.
