"Quaint, Sophisticate, Modern Boutique Hotel."
Quaint, sophisticated, modern boutique hotel. Conveniently situated on North State Street with easy access to good eating areas, supermarkets, the CTA Red Line, and Michigan Avenue. Comfy King room was satisfyingly cozy, very clean, excellent bathroom & shower, nice amenities with a small balcony with a wonderful city view of Near North End. Got a complimentary gift card to use on food or spa services (as an Expedia+ member) and it wound up used to have breakfast in their restaurant, which indeed served excellent food. Having been to Chicago numerous times, this has been a very enjoyable, comfortable stay.

Stayed many years ago and, Hotel was much newer and now after we see a drop in the quality mostly due to wear and tear. Stayed at Ritz last time and felt that the hotels were on par. Would we stay again, yes. Al Saxonberg

"Modern With a Few Quirks"
The location is good, if a tiny bit off the beaten path of restaurants and shopping. There are not a ton of places to eat right nearby and the places that are within a 5 minute walk are mobbed. The hotel itself is modern and the rooms, while small and a little dark, are efficient and well-designed. The fact that this is a hotel that has condos/rental apartments above it was both pro and con. There are separate elevators for each group, and the hotel elevators were often horrendously slow. There is free internet but you have to sign up for it every 24 hours of your stay. The outdoor pool/lounge area/running track are fantastic, though. Really nice!

"Great location."
The hotel is in a great spot to get to everything easily. The staff were always friendly and helpful and the room was well presented and quiet given its location; nothing stops emergency vehicle sirens unfortunately as Chicago has them all the time. I would definitely stay at Hotel Monaco again if I visit Chicago.

Chi-Town isn’t just one of the largest cities in the United States; it’s also one of the most romantic.

Start your couples weekend by checking out one of the city’s signature attractions: the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel. Modeled after the very first Ferris wheel that debuted in Chicago’s 1893 World’s Fair, the Navy Pier Wheel has been a romantic favourite for generations. After the pier, get those creative gears really spinning when you take your partner to the Art Institute of Chicago. The centre spotlights everything from turn-of-the-century photographs, to impressionist paintings, to abstract art. If you and your partner-in-crime love improv, don’t miss a show at the Second City. This legendary improv group is considered a pseudo comedy college for budding stars. Many Second City players move on to television and movie gigs, so catch a performance before they’re gone.

When it comes to deals on your accommodations in the city, we know discounts are no laughing matter. So book right here on Expedia.ca to find the top discounts on the best romantic hotels in Chicago. Take your pick of rooms and suites with epic window views and special amenities like in-house dining. You can even reserve your stay at a luxury hotel in Chicago, which can include extra perks like in-house spas and valet service.

Whether you’re on your first big trip together or it’s your anniversary, you can’t go wrong with a romantic trip to Chicago. Take in the sights while saving money on your accommodations. With the cash left over, you’ll have more than enough for an extra trip up the Ferris wheel, hand in hand.
