"Great hotel in old town"
The hotel is close to the North Street Beach, the lakeshore path, and the zoo. There are convenient bus stops out front and it was easy to get anywhere in town. Our room was small but clean and comfortable. The staff is wonderful - very friendly and helpful!

"Nice, close to river. "
Hotel well situated by the river and centrally located near lots of activities. Wine Happy Hour would've been nice if instead of 5p-6p, the hotel would consider extending the hours. Unfortunately, we were unable to partake in enjoying a nice glass of wine due to its brevity. The doorman was extremely helpful throughout our stay!!!

"Fabulous service, comfort and location."
The Waldorf Astoria Chicago treats guests better than any hotel I've visited. The service and comfort is the best you can get in Chicago. Rooms are quiet and very comfortable. The beds were wonderful for sleeping and we even unrolled the sheets to see make and model so we can buy this bed for our home.

"Enjoyable stay in Chicago "
Enjoyed my stay our room was ready when we arrived early afternoon Room was spacious Entire hotel was very clean. Front desk staff very courteous. Only problem we experienced was we received incorrect information from morning bellmen regarding walking to a train stop for the airport We followed instructions however when we arrived to the spot we were directed and asked someone where the blue line was we were told about a mile away. Not very practical while carrying luggage

Whitehall has a certain charisma to it that you don't get at newer hotels. Love the chic sense of it.

"Awesome stay"
We were intrigued by the weird looking esthetic of the hotel and it lived up to and exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful even recommended one of the best restaurants we've eaten at during our stay. We highly recommend this hotel!

Ruby Room

1743-45 W Division St, Chicago - Map

"Comforting hotel and staff in a great neighborhood"
Located above Ruby Room Spa on Division St. in Wicker Park. This hotel is located in the middle of Wicker Park - a thriving, trendy neighborhood. Plenty of stuff walking distance to do and see, as well as the Blue Line which has access to Logan Square, O'Hare & downtown Chicago within 20 minutes. The hotel itself has very comfortable rooms, amazing beds and the bathroom (at least in my room) was gorgeous w/ a very nice all glass shower. W/ access to the patio in the back of the building, it made for a great morning coffee and sitting outside late at night watching the thunderstorm roll in but staying dry. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Keep in mind there's no TV here, so you might actually have to go outside and do stuff. Without a TV though, it's plenty relaxing and simply bring a laptop / iPad / whatever with you and viola - you have your TV.

Do you like money? Who doesn’t! Visit the Money Museum, which was established by the U.S. Federal Reserve. Check out a large cube made up of $1 million, as well as exhibits on counterfeiters and historical currency. For something less expensive, head to Oak Street Beach for a stroll. If it’s a windy, cold day, bring your coat; if the Midwest sun is hot, bring your flip-flops. Once the night falls, don’t take it as a signal to head back to your room just yet. Head to Cubby Bear, a sports bar by day, music venue by night. Established in 1953, this meeting spot was vital to the Chicago punk music scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s. While the tunes vary these days, it’s still the place to see a local band on the brink of success.
