"Swanky, convenient to mag mile"
This is definitely an upscale hotel in a convenient location. I didn't like the nickel and dime charges. For $300 per night, it should have included free wi-fi. I also had to pay extra for early check-in. The restaurant had a limited, eclectic menu.

"Nice hotel, great location and window seats!"
Love the proximity to the river and convenience of the Loop trains half a block away. Close but not close enough to be bothersome with crowds or noise. It was a prime location for a first time visit to Chicago!

"Best stay in Chicago NO Tipping!!"
When looking for a place to stay I always start at the top. The Waldorf did not disappoint. Our bags were brought up to our room and after a brief walk through of the room as our attendant was about to leave we were told that they do not take gratuities. His words " It takes the pressure off our guests. Wow!! I have nothing against tipping but it did relieve a lot of how much? or how often? Best place to stay in Chicago. Also they have a very nice house car that will drop you off anyplace you want to go within 2 miles.

Ruby Room

"Comforting hotel and staff in a great neighborhood"
Located above Ruby Room Spa on Division St. in Wicker Park. This hotel is located in the middle of Wicker Park - a thriving, trendy neighborhood. Plenty of stuff walking distance to do and see, as well as the Blue Line which has access to Logan Square, O'Hare & downtown Chicago within 20 minutes. The hotel itself has very comfortable rooms, amazing beds and the bathroom (at least in my room) was gorgeous w/ a very nice all glass shower. W/ access to the patio in the back of the building, it made for a great morning coffee and sitting outside late at night watching the thunderstorm roll in but staying dry. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Keep in mind there's no TV here, so you might actually have to go outside and do stuff. Without a TV though, it's plenty relaxing and simply bring a laptop / iPad / whatever with you and viola - you have your TV.

Do you like money? Who doesn’t! Visit the Money Museum, which was established by the U.S. Federal Reserve. Check out a large cube made up of $1 million, as well as exhibits on counterfeiters and historical currency. For something less expensive, head to Oak Street Beach for a stroll. If it’s a windy, cold day, bring your coat; if the Midwest sun is hot, bring your flip-flops. Once the night falls, don’t take it as a signal to head back to your room just yet. Head to Cubby Bear, a sports bar by day, music venue by night. Established in 1953, this meeting spot was vital to the Chicago punk music scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s. While the tunes vary these days, it’s still the place to see a local band on the brink of success.
