I recently stayed at The Royal Sonesta Chicago Downtown and unfortunately, I encountered several issues during my stay. While the initial reception was satisfactory, the overall experience left much to be desired.
The main concern arose when we returned to our room after a day out exploring the city, only to find that it hadn't been serviced. The lack of daily room cleaning and towel replacement was unexpected for a hotel of this caliber, especially considering the significant nightly cost of nearly $250.
Upon politely requesting assistance, we were initially informed by a staff member that they do not provide daily room cleaning or towel changes. This response struck us as unusual and inconsistent with the standards we expected. Nevertheless, they assured us that our request would be taken care of.
Unfortunately, the situation repeated itself the following day. Our room was once again left untouched, disregarding our previous conversations. We approached another staff member, who contradicted the previous statement and apologized for the inconvenience, assuring us that our room would be serviced.
To our dismay, the next day brought no improvement. The room remained uncleaned, and fresh towels were not provided. Feeling frustrated, we made another request for clean towels to be delivered promptly.
