"Reasonable location, room cold and drafty"
I stayed on the second floor (one up from ground) in a room with floor to ceiling non-opening windows overlooking a busy street with lots of pedestrians who could easily look in. No shears/net curtains, no blinds, just a heavy curtain. And the glass was thin enough that I could feel the cold pouring in, and could hear when people were talking on the street, so it was noisier than I like. It didn't help that the heating was set on 15 when i arrived but it never did get really warm - the heating wasn't powerful enough to combat the draught I think. The floor is wood, which is a plus over carpet because it's easier to clean. There was no breakfast or room service, but there are tons of restaurants nearby. I like that you get a fridge but there's no microwave. Studio 6 isn't that far away on Grange and is probably better value but not so recently renovated. They're both two or three star hotels. It was nice that there was an elevator & the wifi worked well. Bed was OK. The "rain" shower is fun and maybe trendy although I wished for a bath really. The instructions on the 'phone were wrong (don't dial 9 for a local or long distance number, just dial the number). I booked at short notice and it was relatively inexpensive.

"Great Hotel, Great Location"
Stayed at the Gladstone from 12th - 18th February 2017, on a short break with my husband. It’s a fantastic old hotel, full of character with a great bar/restaurant serving a good selection of beer and an interesting menu. There are good bars and restaurants within easy walking distance if you want to get out and about. The hotel is well positioned in a trendy/edgy, out of town location but within easy tram ride of the city. The tram stops are right outside the hotel, really convenient. The hotel hosts art exhibitions and has some interesting artworks on display The staff were very helpful, polite and accommodating. The rooms are all individual and designed by different designers. I had seen some of the rooms on the website and they all looked fantastic unfortunately, I hated the room we were allocated (305) it was a lilac 1970’s teenagers themed room. It was hideous. I think every other room is quite attractive – just unlucky I guess. Also, the bed was a bit small and very squeaky which was annoying. Just to add to that, our view was of a supermarket. Having said that, on the plus, the room was clean and very quiet and peaceful even when there were events on in the bar. I would definitely stay there again but not in 305!

"Great hotel, close to everything"
We loved our stay at the Hotel Victoria! My husband and I were in town for a concert, and this hotel was very reasonably priced for how close it was to the Air Canada Center. Plus it was down the street from the Eaton Mall, so we could spend half the day shopping, then drop off our purchases on the walk over to the concert. Plenty of restaurants nearby, and easy to find. Our room had Netflix and a really comfy bed. We'll be back the next time we are in Toronto!

Clean, functional hotel. Nothing fancy but terrific for the price. Nice staff. Simple check in. Bed and bathroom are clean and very functional. Little kitchenette. Fantastic value for the location in the city.

Imagine it: After a day darting between the busy city streets and speeding multi-coloured taxis, it’s time to chill out amidst the waves and sunshine at the seashore. Woodbine is the city’s most popular beach, as it’s a great spot for a round of volleyball. Bluffer’s Point, located beneath the famous Scarborough Bluffs on the north side, is a must for a good walk along with some swimming. If you’re bringing Fido, Cherry Beach (also called Clarke Beach) has an open area for leash-free fun. For something on the tranquil side, Balmy Beach is one of the quieter beaches, which makes it a perfect spot for a few hours of serene tanning. If tan lines aren’t for you, Hanlan’s Point is the favourite clothing-optional spot in town.
