"Fantastic staff and pool, but some areas need attention: All of the staff here were absolutely amazing and incredibly helpful throughout our stay! The buffet was fantastic, and we loved the beautiful swimming pool right on the beach. However, there are a few areas that need improvement. The public spaces require more frequent cleaning, and our room was in need of some minor maintenance. Additionally, if you stay on the top floor, the balcony desperately needs a cover or awning; when it rains, the entire balcony floods, making it impossible to dry your clothes. Finally, while the buffet was excellent, the à la carte restaurants did not live up to expectations compared to other resorts we have visited in Mexico."

"Best Mexico trip so far! Stayed at at least 10 different resorts in or near this area. This one was great! Room was clean and comfortable with a little patio. Lots of walking as resort is VERY large. Food at restaurants was great, as was waitstaff. Disappointed staff was not more personable though. All about business. Beach and pools were extremely clean. When we went, there was A LOT of sargasso and waves were too big to swim. Instead, went down to beach at low tide and saw all sorts of marine life, including a spotted eel! Went to Xcaret and stayed all day, including swimming in the center river and attending the Mexican Heritage Show. Holy cow, a lot of money and talent went into this 2 hr show! Would highly recommend!!!"

"This is a well kept collection to the RIU family. I usually stay at an all Adults RIU resort for more party life and activities but Riveria Maya was amazing! The staff was very welcoming and very accommodating. I had no problems throughout my stay and I really appreciated the cleanliness of the staff. 10/10 highly recommended for families travels."
