This was my first time staying at a Barcelo property and I will not be back. I originally booked at the colonial and when my group arrived we were told that the property over booked. They had another room reserved for us far away from any of the social areas and was very run down. The beds were very uncomfortable and pillows were super thin. I opted for daily cleaning and I came back to made beds and swept floors. There were days we didn't have toilet paper, hand towels or wash clothes in our room. One day I had to dry off with a wet pool towel. The service throughout the resort was very poor. when sitting down at buffets or on pool side chair I had no service for drinks or food. The bars were understaffed and the bartenders acted as if they didn't want to serve my group or other individuals. the buffet food was okay, they offered a lot of options but the food was lacking flavor or wasn't prepared right. The food at the restaurants was fantastic but unfortunately we were only allowed to book 3 reservations. The drinks were way better than the food but if you want top shelf you have to have premier access. They offered some activities for children and young teens but no music/ DJ during the day time hours. Overall not my favorite resort and I would rather spend my money else where.

Came here for spring break with a group. Food was repetitive and not good at the restaurants. Entertainment was nonexistent during the day. good if you want to lay around and do nothing and speak to no one. Would not reccoommend if you want to have fun or experience good food. staff was not very welcoming, came off as if we were annoying most of the time. Very disappointing trip overall. Upon arrival they put us in a room that in the beach tower instead of colonial which we booked. So we were so far from everything. Our room smelled like puke and had no working AC. I had to go to front desk twice for assistance with the AC. Also, the "all-inclusive" is not that at all. Everything fun on the resort like mini golf, bowling, other activities all costed more which is ridiculous. Alcohol was not very good and bartenders were not fun like previous experiences I had at resorts in Cancun. This was by far the worst place I have stayed. Its a beautiful resort but the other factors deter me from staying here ever again.

Beach, hotel & gardens Kept clean , staff are nice. The spa is great however, you don’t get the treatment you paid for. I did 3 spa days , purchased 3 different spa treatments, but received the same deep tissue message every time… be careful don’t expect the services you read in pamphlet. Just go for Swedish or deep tissue message.
