It was not a great stay nor was it a terrible stay. I would not suggest to other families; it might be a better fit for a couple or an individual traveler.
Pros:
1. Location compared to the 5th St. shopping & dining area a public beach nearby that did not have as much seaweed. I had coffee each morning at a nearby hotel with a great coffee shop. Everything is within walking distance so we rarely used taxi services.
2. Room cleanliness upon arrival and stayover service.
3. Small but nice, clean pool. We used it quite a bit because there were mass amounts of seaweed on the hotel's beach. It smelled terrible for several days before a work team raked up the beach. On our day of arrival, the sargassum had piled up so bad on the shore that my eyes burned and I got a headache.
Cons:
1. Small hotel beach area was not usable because of the plethora of fishing boats anchored to the shore.
2. No regular coffee maker. Had to purchase Nespresso pods for $2.00 ea.
3. Day 2: Turned off water for almost two hours with no notice.
3. Day 4: Electricity flickering off and on for about an hour.
4. Staff did not seem too engaged. Honestly, I tried to avoid everyone because it was awkward. The one guy that did want to talk to us all the time was trying to sell us discounted excursion tickets.
5. The hotel seemed really empty. We rarely ran into any other guests, which was concerning.
