Barceló Maya Caribe - All Inclusive

10/10 Excellent

"This is my absolute favorite resort. Everything was wonderful, as always. The buffets and restaurants were magnificent—everything was exquisite and delicious. The staff was excellent—very friendly and always ready to help. My room was cleaned daily (thanks for the fresh linens, too), and the beach was superb. I love coming here, especially at this time of year when there are very few crowds. Thank you; everything was great—and, most importantly, peaceful and safe. The only downside was a bit of bad luck: I got stung by a jellyfish. Everyone knows the first step is to pour vinegar on the sting. When I asked for some vinegar at the buffet, the woman in charge refused to help, claiming there was no vinegar available. Ridiculous, right? No vinegar at a buffet. I eventually found some vinegar myself and treated the sting; the burning stopped and the redness faded within five minutes—I managed to neutralize the venom before it could spread. To that woman: if I hadn't wasted time dealing with you, I would have felt much better much sooner. My point is this: people who don't know that vinegar is the first-aid treatment for a jellyfish sting simply cannot—and absolutely should not—work in this industry. This happened on the morning of Saturday, September 19, during breakfast at the Barceló Beach buffet. Unfortunately, I didn't catch the woman's name at the time, but I hope measures will be taken. Otherwise, everything was wonderful; I adore Barceló 💖"

"An excellent stay and highly recommended for those trying to be low key on vacation not too crowded on our stay which was nice, missed whale sharks by a couple days but would recommend doing that if your into it, cenotes are a must for your full experience! If your looking to eat off the resort highly suggest ARKA it definitely is expensive but absolutely worth the experience. When booking here if you want most bang for buck I suggest the privileged romance suite, comes with a 30min couples massage and custom romantic dinner either on the beach or in the restaurant. Definitely will be coming back."
