"Secrets Moxché is our go-to resort in Playa, as this was our 2nd time here. The staff, location, food and vibe are exceptional. This is a luxury resort that smothers you with beautiful decor, service and food. if you strive for a non-stop party resort then this isn't for you. Another thing to note, is they are not friendly to smokers or vapers, so if you smoke/vape be prepared to sign a contract at checkin and smoke in an unshaded bench on the other side of the property. "Mahekal is a very nice property directly on the beach and convenient to Playa del Carmen. One of the restaurants was closed (possibly due to lower off-season tourism), but it’s higher-end Fuego restaurant was excellent! The property is quiet unless your room is near the Las Olas restaurant, which plays music starting at 7:00 am. This was the only disappointment during our stay."

"The hotel itself was decent. We only booked for 1 day stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We arrived at 12:30 but check in time was 3pm so we did wait for about 45mins to get into our room. The area around the hotel seems as though it’s a developing area, it was pretty dirty and seems like it was a local community, with loose dogs running around. The room overall was nice and clean despite the shower. The chrome in the shower head and sink were eroded and rusty. I tried to clean it...
