"Overall stayed was good. Good food. Restaurants booking has to be done way ahead of the time ( 10 days) Before the check out we had to get our luggage inside of the room and we were locked outside ( the bracelets didn't work) We had to call security to unlock and almost lost the transport to airport. "This is a well maintained older hotel with a nice pool. Staff were excellent with cleaning and maintenance. The website should be updated to show they don’t have a restaurant working, only the beach bikini place. It’s ok but don’t have a lot to choose and it can get repetitive. Staff at the beach bikini were excellent. If you don’t have a rental car it can be challenging. No pool side bar that we saw. Tony was helpful when ask about other places to eat, but all were in town. "

"This place is older but it’s got good bones and has been well taken care of it is sooooo clean and I love the charm of our villa "

"Yoga class with Ronaldo was a highlight and excellent. Swim up bar was wonderful, beach and water beautiful. Loud music til 11pm we could hear from our room kept me up at night. "

"5 star to the staff all so friendly pools were great with plenty of lounge chairs clean and well maintained resort not a fan of the loud music/dance/foam/theme parties until 10pm or 1 am another negative was the availability of a la carte restaurants overall it was a great vacation"

"Room was clean, bed was comfortable. There are no elevators so you will have to climb stairs if not on first floor. Pools are on smaller size, you can take trolley to all other resorts to use amenities and restaurants. "

"Had a wonderful time here at Akumal Bay! Beautiful view from our oceanfront room and the staff were lovely. It really did feel like a peaceful retreat compared to other AI’s. Everything was clean and the food was good. Unfortunately, there was a lot of seaweed. Not really anything the resort can do other than clean it, but this did take away from the beauty of the beach. Also the Latin dance classes! My husband and I had hoped for a couples class but it was more of a Zumba class. Would be nice to include a couples Latin dance class:) "
