"The rooms are amazing. The atmosphere is awesome, the staff are exceptional. Very helpful and will make sure your requests are met! I needed this vacation and it was extremely relaxing and just what I needed. Expedia - hotels always say book direct because you have more options! Well let me just say - because of Expedia, every night there was a thank you from Expedia with a note. And we always had something special for us at the table. So I can't say more how awesome this trip was!"

"Friendly staff, great location and amazing ocean views. Food quality is not as expected. The hotel shows it's age, rusting and paint peeling off are almost everywhere. Overall it's a great experience, and I believe this hotel is great for budget Cancun first timers."

"My boyfriend and I stayed in a Junior Suite and the room was excellent with its soaker tub. Our room was cleaned and bed made daily. Fridge stocked daily. Staff were wonderful and surprised my boyfriend with Birthday wishes. Pools were cleaned and maintained by staff. Always cleaning as they go.Food options at buffet and Cafe were great, I wish the room service menu was a bit better thought out to guests. Like pancakes muffins eggs etc.. that would be the only change that needs to happen. Excellent stay I would recommend on all levels."

"IT WAS AMAZING. My boyfriend and I went for our very first couples trip and it was also my birthday. I got gifted a bottle of tequila by the resort, there was decorations in my room with a balloon and some towels in the form of a cake. They were absolutely amazing. The entertainment team was an ab 10/10 The food was pretty good at the buffet. We loved the options so much that we didn’t even try the themed restaurants. The staff were kind and caring. They were always smiling and very welcoming. Oscar from the entertainment team was an absolute joy to be around. I loved every bit of my vacation it was PERFECT. The resort was beautiful the beach was beautiful the pools were beautiful and there were so many fun activities lined up by the resort. THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO BOOK IT GIRL!"

"Aesthetic wise the property looks nice… rooms though, they need to be updated. The mini fridge are set too high but keep the drinks just barely cold.. phones don’t work in the rooms and we had a 2x2 room (connected rooms) but the conjoining doors wouldn’t open so it felt like if I left my kids in a different room.. and Check In was too long"

"We had an excellent stay at Occidental and would definitely return. The property is beautiful, very well maintained, and surrounded by amazing scenery. The staff was friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with anything we needed. Our room was clean, comfortable, and serviced daily. The food offered plenty of variety, and we always found something we enjoyed. The pools were great, the drinks were consistently good, and there were activities throughout the day for both adults and kids. One of our favorite parts was simply walking around the resort and enjoying the atmosphere. The location was fantastic, and the overall value for an all-inclusive vacation was hard to beat. If you’re looking for a family-friendly resort with beautiful grounds, good food, and excellent service, Occidental is a great choice. We made a lot of great memories and are already talking about coming back."
