Mexico Oceanfront Hotels from CA $80

"Atelier was a great stay. The facilities, rooms, walkways, and everything were extremely clean and well taken care of. The resort was beautiful overall with great beach access, pools, and lots to do. There were constant fun and engaging activities to enjoy, and different pool/beach vibes for any type of vacationer. The food/drinks were great with many high tier options, and the staff was EXTREMELY kind. Every single worker walked by with a smile and made you feel welcome. A couple very nitpicky criticism's: the resort is a bit of a maze, it took us almost 3 days to figure out how the buildings/levels worked. When we first arrived at 2pm on a Thursday, all of the dinner reservations except for one restaurant were booked out for the day, and we were told to get on at 12:01 AM to have a chance at the soonest available reservation for Sunday night (we got it and it was worth it for the steakhouse). The room service took a while and wasn’t very good compared to the restaurants we attended (to be expected). Last one: make sure to bring cash if you plan to tip/spend it. All 3 ATMs on site were non-functioning and there was no other way to get cash. "

"Occidental Caret provides a high value vacation at a reasonable price. The beach has a protective cove free of seaweed and rough waves which is great for kids. Food is above average ranging from specialty restaurants to the large buffet in the main building all with AC. Each building has about 50 spacious rooms on three floors with an elevator and an attendant. A large vehicle provides transportation on the property. We especially enjoy bldg 22 (Expedia Building) located near the quiet adults only pool. The view from the beach restaurant is outstanding. "

"La comida del Cafe Tamayo, me encanta, he probado casi todo el menu y no me decido por que es mas rico. La señorita que atiende en la tarde, creo se llama Erica, (con 5 años de servicio) muy amable y servicial. En el restaurante, el buffet también muy variado y muy rico. Todo el personal muy rápido y ágil lo cual se agradece cuando tienes prisa. Me encanta lo privado que son los cuartos, no se escucha nada de ruido de otros huéspedes, ni los bebes llorando ni nada. Todo el personal que me atendió fue muy amable, desde las personas en el lobby, los que llevaron mi equipaje, las señoritas de limpieza, los de room service. El cuarto es bastante amplio y cómodo. No tuve oportunidad de meterme a la alberca, ni ir al gym, pero pase y se ven muy limpios. Cada que tengo que viajar a la CDMX procuro quedarme por la cercanía a los asuntos que voy, y la comodidad del hotel. "

"Excellent, 5 day stay with my wife. Things went well, staff was great, many food options, and met some great people. Only negative was the pool needs to be refinished. A few people got injured with cuts in the pool by broken/chipped tile. Other than that we had a blast. "
