"Something a bit different ...a yacht hotel! "
Great location for London Docklands stuff, and easy access in to central London on DLR. We stayed when there was nothing big on at Excel so was very relaxing ...might be a bit noisier and more hectic if something is on as it is right next door to Excel!

"My new favorite place to stay in London"
This place popped up when I looked for somewhere to stay near Canary Wharf. The name drew my attention, and sure enough this is basically a "religious retreat" which also offers rooms to regular guests. The location is great for Canary Wharf - you can walk there in about 25 mins, or hop on the DLR. The ambiance is very peaceful, and the staff are very friendly. I took a "luxury double" room, which was spacious, clean and comfortable. While some might describe the carpet and flooring as "basic", it was new and fresh. There was no TV in my room, but I can't remember the last time I watched TV in a hotel - I always use my laptop to view the news or downloaded TV programs. WiFi seemed good and was easy to connect. The "Yurt Cafe" was closed when I arrived. I assume it's not a full time restaurant, but it would have been fun to try it. There are several good local places to eat with a variety of prices and styles of cuisine within easy walking distance, and Natalja on the reception desk gave some good suggestions. Breakfast was excellent - especially the tea. It's a basic buffet, but perfectly OK. The building has several rooms for sitting and reading, and the grounds are delightful and peaceful. I traveled by DLR, so I can't comment on parking. Limehouse station is about a five minute walk. The cost was very good value, and my only regret is that I don't need to be in that area very often, so I don't know when I'll get another opportunity to stay there.

"Nice hotel and good location,"
I visited the hotel for a night stay, the hotel and area were nice. There was a lack of staff, only two on checkin with 4 desks and a huge queue. The careline was never answered. Good hotel in general, but the service was a but lacking

"The New Hotel Experience."
When I arrived at Tune Hotel in Canary Wharf the receptionist described it as "the new hotel experience" - hence the title of my review. As a hotel it was certainly different. My room was not part of the main hotel building, rather it was in a separate block about 50 metres away. The room was certainly nice in what is described on the internet as "minimalist". I can't argue with that and my first, and indeed last impressions were good. The floor was of wood, and the walls were, I felt, nicely painted. I had an ensuite shower and although it suited me, I thought that it would be a bit awkward for the larger person to use comfortably as there was no bath. I have found in most of the hotels I have visited that the shower is over a bath, so I've had lots of room to move around. There is something of a downside to my stay at Tune: there was no phone to speak to anyone in reception and there were no drinks-making facilities, unless I took my own kettle or coffee machine, which I didn't. There is a list of bars, cafes and restaurants in the Canary Wharf area, and it is an extensive list so there is no shortage of very good eating and drinking houses within walking distance, but this means of course that I was eating out pretty much all the time, unless I bought a sandwich to eat in my room. Fine and dandy when the weather ain't too bad, but I wouldn't be over the moon about having to trudge through snow and rain to get fed, or speak to a receptionist.

"Convenient location for my conference at Excel"
Canary Wharf is a rather nice and somewhat quiet area in London that took me about 30 minutes to get to Excel. The apartment was clean and comfortable with reliable Internet. There were a number of lightbulbs burned out in the apartment, but they were fixed the day after I informed the staff about them. Not the most existing place to stay, but I really can't complain, it was exactly as advertised, and conveniently located for my week.
