Kingsway Hall Hotel

66 Great Queen Street, London - Map
"Ideally located for theater goers and walkers."
This hotel is perfectly located for theater-bound visitors. Also for opera-goers, since the Royal Opera House is a ten-minutes walk away. Also for museum visitors, sine the British Museum is twenty minutes away (walking), and Sir John Soanes' museum is virtually across the street. The Holborn underground station is two blocks away; likewise the Covent Garden station, so if you're needing to get somewhere on the Tube you have convenient access to both the Picadilly and Central lines. In the hotel itself, the breakfast buffet is excellent and the hotel bar is a cozy corner for drinkers. I am not fond of the electronic key-code system for personal room doors (I had to have my card re-done on at least two occasions) but that's the twenty-first century so I live with it. Overall, this is an outstanding hotel with very comfortable rooms and prime location in a city I love.

The Strand Palace

"best location in london"
i love the strand palace and have been staying there for years. however, sometimes, i've gotten a room that is really just too small for two people, and that's what happened this time: the double bed was crammed into a corner of the room, a corner so small that the bed could only be accessed from one side - that's a stretch and they really shouldn't offer rooms that size to two people that said, it's a great location, their renovation they did for the olympics is terrific and i can't wait to go back (i'll just make sure i don't settle for a room where the bed doesn't really fit)

"Short business trip - October 2015. "
Short business stay in a nice area, but on a busy street. Hotel and rooms are clean - 5th floor room seemed recently renovated. Corridors are tight. Couldn't find the toiletries but used my own so not a big problem. Breakfast was simple but adequate.

Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London

"Nice. Not perfect"
Large room. Lights were challenging in the room. Living room was too big, bedroom area too small. Breakfast was fair at best. Big eaters do the buffet, small breakfast lovers go to the Italian cafe instead. Location is terrific.
