"My husband and I had a great stay overall. The resort was beautiful, clean, and well-maintained, and most of the staff and guests were friendly. I’ve stayed at RIU resorts several times and have always had positive experiences. The food was very good and filling. During our 5-day stay, we only ate at the buffet, but we enjoyed everything we tried. Unfortunately, we had a serious issue on our first night. The resort arranged a taxi for us to get to an excursion. During the ride, the driver took my phone and hid it under his seat, then demanded money to return it. We had already paid for the ride and even tipped him, but he continued demanding more. Security and police became involved, and after a very stressful situation, I ended up paying a total of $160 to get my phone back. While this experience was upsetting, I don’t want one dishonest driver to define our entire trip. We met many wonderful people afterward, enjoyed several excursions, and had a great vacation overall. My only recommendation is to use Uber or carefully verify transportation arrangements. Most people we encountered were kind and professional, but it’s always best to be cautious. Despite that unfortunate incident, we still enjoyed our stay and made some great memories."

"We had the absolute time at Zilara! One of the best all-inclusive experiences I’ve ever had. The staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure you had the best stay. We were blown away! Special shoutouts to Orlando, and Cesar who were the most wonderful waiters. Gonzalo and Sandy - for entertainment were the BEST - brought such fun vibes for nonstop entertainment - pool volleyball, Bracelet making, foam parties! Pool Zumba and pool aerobics were sooo much fun - recommending to have this every day! Highlights bar was the place to be every night. Highly highly recommend!!"

"We loved the pleasant smell of the entire resort. The room was spacious and kept very clean. The buffet was good, wished there was a better variety of choices. The Italian restaurant was delicious! The only thing that was irritating was the spa staff. They were non stop asking if we wanted massages. I understand that they are doing their job, but the same person would ask us over and over again, then the other staff were right behind them asking the same thing. Overall we loved the resort!"

"Overall great resort, five star to everything but the food. I’d give the food two or three star. Maybe I’m a food snob and it’s kind of expected it’s never that great at resorts? What stood out about the food not being great is the dinners, all meats were always overcooked and veggies undercooked. Everything tasted like it was managed to be as economically efficient for the resort as possible. I guess I expected more from Live Aqua in that aspect."
