WARNING ALL TRAVELERS
Do NOT stay at this resort.
We booked a week long vacation to stay here 6 months in advance. When we arrived late at night after traveling all day to the hotel, they told us that there was no rooms available because they had plumbing issues in the room.
They tried to put us in a extremely disgusting hotel down the road instead. In a very bad part of town. It honestly looked like something out of a 3rd world country. We ended the night by returning to nyx pleading with the people at the front desk if there was any other options for us to stay.
They told us sorry but your going to have to sleep there.
After realizing they had no solutions for us. We just gave up and booked another resort down the road.
I’m writing this for anyone who’s thinking about staying here.
Know they do not have your back and will leave you out on the curb to save a little money for them selves.
When we got there they told us we didn’t have a room for us even though we had booked 5 months in advance. They tried to send us to another motel that was in a terrible part of town and completely unsafe. The customer service was a nightmare we got yelled at and glared down by the lady at the front desk when we told her we wouldn’t be going to the crappy motel they wanted to stuff us into. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. We ended up staying at the royal sands down the road and that was amazing definitely go there or to any resort that is not hotel nyx. Hotel nyx is the actual worst resort/hotel I have ever been to.
This was our first time to Mexico and we were so happy to have chosen the Hotel NYX. Everything was very organized and thought of like the bracelet keys, airport reservations, dinner reservations, luggage storage and everyone was so helpful and courteous right from the beginning in all areas of service. As a smaller hotel it seemed more intimate, you got to know your bartenders and servers well. The food was amazing, fresh sushi, burgers on the beach, nachos, wings I could go on, and the drink options were so good, the pool and activities were fun and it was not crowded or busy. My only concerns would have been that some of the bedroom furniture should be updated since you could see some stains and wear as well as some of the tile work, but really not an issue. The views from our Jr. Suite were absolutely amazing and the beach was clean and the sand was gorgeous. And the only other thing I did not like was the race to get lounge chairs on the beach. If I am on vacation I have no desire to wake up at 6 am to rush and go put my towel on a chair so I can sit somewhere later. I think the hotel should have reserved set of chairs and one umbrella for each room with room number on it. It felt upsetting that we paid the same as others but had to sit in the sand. But overall this was an amazing trip and I cannot wait to come back! Thank you so much NYX staff for such a wonderful experience!
We had the best service at the hotel. Staff was always there and working too keep all the guests happy even on the day of Christmas! Happy we chose NYX for our vacation
While this property is not an all-inlcusive resort as many would prefer, the all-inclusive package was enough for us. It was more like a hotel with all you can eat/drink. The two fine dining restaurants, Umami and Chicanti, were the most delicious food we have had on vacay in a long time. We loved the pool and beach area. It was small enough that everything was accessible. There was a higher level of noise than some folks may like but we stayed on the street side. Overall, we would visit this place again. Very safe and the staff was AMAZING!
