We stayed in August 2024 for my birthday. This was our 5th or 6th trip and unfortunately we will probably not return. Resort has stopped focusing on couples and has starting promoting large groups to book rooms. The resort isn't set up for this. Dining is delayed, staff is stressed (not enough of them to serve large groups plus other guests), more buffets than before, loud groups partying until late into the night/morning takes away from the chill, relaxing, quiet vibe the resort used to have. Staff and taxi drivers indicate the new manager (might not still be there 1.5 years later, maybe so) was running the resort into the ground for personal profit. We came here for our honeymoon in 2016 and loved it and went back several times. The last trip was so bad and noisy we were ready to leave early since the other people in our building thought nothing of blaring their music and talking on the phone until 3 and 4am in the common areas between rooms. The way the buildings are set up in this resort you walk into a common area and all the rooms in the building come off the common area. The problem is the rooms are very insulated between the rooms but not around the doors. Also because of the large open ceilings, stuff in the common areas echo. As the group was very large (probably 30 plus adults), our concerns were pretty much dismissed since they had rented out about 1/3 of the resort. The wait staff and kitchen staff and bar staff did the best they could.

Do not book golf tee times in advance. They will not refund your money if you cancel. We canceled the tee times 30 days in advance and we weren’t given a refund

Honestly a great place to stay. Walked around to neighboring resort and stores nearby after 10pm and very safe. To enter you need to show verification of reservation to enter the resort area. Felt safe and resort is a short drive away from market area

Decent place for families

We were offered a $200 incentive to take what was presented as a simple tour of the hotel's VIP/preferred rooms. We were told it was a no-strings-attached experience, so we woke up early the next morning to attend. About halfway through, it became obvious this was actually a high-pressure timeshare sales presentation. We politely explained that we appreciated their time, but that we had saved for this vacation and that purchasing a membership was completely outside our budget and not something we were interested in. Unfortunately, our "no" was not respected. The first representative ignored our repeated attempts to decline. His manager was even more aggressive. The final salesperson was the rudest, most unprofessional person I've ever encountered. The way he spoke to me, my wife, and my parents was completely unacceptable. No guest should be treated that way. He was nasty. The entire experience made us feel trapped and pressured instead of respected. If you're offered this presentation, understand that it's a timeshare sales pitch, not the casual tour it's initially presented to be. That said, this review is not about the hotel itself. The hotel was beautiful, and the bartenders, servers, housekeeping, and every other member of the hotel staff were outstanding. They made the rest of our stay wonderful. The sales presentation was the only negative part of our trip, and I hope the hotel reconsiders allowing such aggressive and misleading sales tactics.

Everything clean

Our fifth stay at Valentin Imperial. Always great, friendly and timely service by everyone. Beautiful large rooms. No wearing of bracelets. Eat where you want everyday. Plenty of opportunity for excursions. Very reasonable price. Excellent nightlife shows. Really cool sports, cigar, and piano bars, each with a different ambience. Multiple swim up bars. Many daily activities and well equipped gym.
