Service was there but just took to long to arrive, we had an issue with our toilet and it took them a minute, also our AC was not pushing enough cold air through, it was warm for the most part, good thin the room had a fan it distributed the air well. The place was nice lots of jungle around and animals.

The food was either under cooked or over cooked. Buffett was not safe - too many flies, and food should have been colder or protected. Pool’s need more staff to keep it cleaner Drinks…no top-shelf liquor! No options… Problems with the building we stayed in: No hot water for two days No phone to call and ask for room service No ice machine No elevator After speaking to management they dismissed it and said it was being fixed and should be back in “twenty minutes”… There were some nice parts: Large pools Close to excursions Steak house was good Spa was nice (pricy) Good gym LOTS OF ANIMALS!!! - fun

It has gone slightly down hill since our last visit. The staff were not as attentive. It was hard to get them to give us more than 5 ice cubes in any drink. The rooms were dirtier than expected and need some detail cleaning (my daughter cut her foot on broken glass). The transportation around the resort was awful! Be prepared to do a ton of walking or wait up to 30 minutes for a cart. Our room ran out of hot water twice while they were doing repairs but we were not informed they were working on anything. The pool that my daughter can touch in is an adults only pool now while the deep one by the bar is the one open for kids and we had to deal with obnoxious drunks every day who talked badly to the children in the pool. The food was not as great as last time but the restaurants that required reservations were better. The monkeys were very active this time and that was a huge highlight of our trip. The transportation around the resort was a real deal breaker this time so we will not be returning. Waiting 30 minutes for nobody to show up and walking anyways was annoying. The blisters on my feet are painful and had we known transportation was so sporadic, we would have chosen to bring sneakers or tinnis shoes.

The ONLY good thing about this property is the location near Xcaret Mexico Park. If you are not planning on going to the park i would not recommend staying at this property. The staff appears to always be mad poor service. The food is not good and they serve the same thing everyday. There is only two buffet restaurants and open at the same time same food is served at both of them. You have to get on waiting list to be seated even though there are plenty of tables available, you only get served once and good luck getting a server to come back around. The bars are not always open only like one bar was open throughout the entire day and only one bar tender with a bad mood at each bar. The property is not too clean. And every day you get bugged by hotel staff to do a tour of the property to sign up for the royal club. You tell them no and they dont take that for an answer they will tell you again next time you see them. It gets to a point where you dont want to go back to your room or leave because they are there to bother you as soon as they see you. We were really annoyed by this, i did not pay so much to be bothered and annoyed! Would not recommend this property at all!

The VIP room originally offered was in the back of the resort, bldg 22. I paid to upgrade to a Studio Suite to only be moved to a bigger double room. After going back to the front office, we were moved to a king room with a pull out couch, 4 bottles of liquor, lots of gnats, no linen for the sofa bed, brown sink water, clogged sink drain and rusted shower head. I contacted the front desk again, requesting a deep clean. The next day the room was better, but definitely not a VIP or paid upgrade experience.
