Third visit so we have been generally happy with the resort in the past, however, this time we left a little underwhelmed.
- Food was average, when in the past we have been impressed. It was not bad, just not as expected.
- Drinks were the big issue..no consistency in taste...order the same drink in several locations, or at the same location twice, and they would be different each time, and frankly some not drinkable at all.
- Facility seems to be getting a bit worn around the edges. For example visible mildew/rot on walls in sports bar, also in the conference room where COVID testing is conducted. (ya, that's a clean environment for health testing!!!). Grout in bathroom shower worn away...few other examples around the resort. The resort does not feel dirty at all, there are always staff cleaning....it just seems to be showing some age. I believe there are cheaper options in the Mayan Riviera for the same quality of facility.
- A continued strong point is the customer service...all we met, starting with the luggage crew at the front to the servers in the restaurants, really try hard to make you comfortable and accommodated. Small example...I decided to take own luggage down to Club Lounge for departure (they offered of course) and on the way down a nice gentleman doing some gardening offered to help...not his role but just being attentive to guests.
We will likely try another resort next time...perhaps even EPM
