"This hotel was amazing, very clean, and a nice room with a view. On our last day the AC in the hotel went out and they did comp us for the trouble, but no complaints with that as it’s something that can’t be foreseen. I would absolutely stay at the royal sonesta again!!"

"Beautiful hotel in the very heart of this beautiful city. Excellent location for walking to Riverwalk, Navy Pier, and so much more. Fantastic staff from reception to housekeeping to food services. Outstanding daily breakfast buffet made the start of every day a great experience. Will definitely come back to the Riu!"

"Average at best—outdated and plagued by communication issues I would rate this hotel as average at best. It’s clear they are trying to maintain the reputation of a high-end, "nice" hotel, but the property itself feels incredibly outdated. The check-in process was a bit of a mixed bag. While the front desk staff seemed friendly enough, the operation felt disorganized, which led to a clunky start to the stay. What really missed the mark, however, was the communication. I was bombarded with a multitude of automated messages, many of which contained misleading or conflicting information. It was far from a grand experience, and they really need to streamline their guest communication and invest in some modern updates."

River Hotel

"Super-friendly helpful staff! This hotel is in a great location by the river walk and the newly-opened Hello Kitty Cafe. The rates were lower than others, and it was great it didn't cost extra for my pet. The room was very clean, and the temperature was good, but I do wish it could've gotten cooler. They offer valet parking, but the garage for self-parking is a short walk away. It's best to use public transportation as much as you can in this area. Overall, a great price compared to other hotels, a fantastic location, and amazing staff. Thank you for a great stay!"
