Downtown McKinleyville is a short two mile-drive where you can find plenty of dining options if you don't feel like staying in and cook for everyone. There are plenty of trails for biking and hiking and the most popular is the Hammond Trail, which extends five and a half miles from the Mad River to Clam Beach. Clam Beach, another must-visit, is five and a half miles away and is the ideal location for beachcombing, surf fishing, clamming, hiking, riding horses and picnicking. THINGS TO KNOW If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. No more dogs are allowed. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 5 vehicles. Jun 19, 2024 Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy Disliked: Communication #### Redwoods House was clean and comfortable on the inside, the outside BBQ area was awful, would not use it at all.The wooden walk aways are in terrible condition, handrails will give you splitters if you use them for support. House siding in front is torn off and laying on the lawn by the side deck. Enjoyed the tennis/ basketball court. It has everything needed for a short stay and is perfectly comfortable. That said, the windows all need screens particularly the 'balcony" bedroom. It gets hot (even on 70 degree days). Opening the window to let in air also lets in flies. Also, it would be good to have some alternative bedding for hotter days when a big duvet is too much. ##### Korie B.
