All hotels near downtown Ithaca are overpriced, so we went with the Super 8 as the lowest cost option. Property was tired with a lingering tobacco smell even though all rooms are labeled as non-smoking, although room appeared to be clean. Outside spotlight was pointed directly at our window, so despite the black-out curtain the light around the edges illuminated the room all night. Included breakfast was minimal, not even having any yogurt.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I booked a double bed (we had four people). They had no fold away bed or anything I could use for my two children. And they had no extra single rooms. The gentleman at the front desk was wonderful and tried his best for us. He told me they would refund me if I wanted to leave, so I left and booked somewhere else. THEN it went very bad. The hotel manager refused to refund me. She said that in the fine print of the booking it says they "promise a room, but not necessarily the room you booked so she will not refund me." She said "I have a paycheck to earn, I cannot just give anyone a refund who asks for one." When I said that seemed unfair and unreasonable because we literally had no place to sleep. She said, "that is too bad. life is unfair and unreasonable." When I asked her what she would have done in my place, she said "I would act like an adult, accept that life isn't fair sometimes and I would leave." When I told her the guy at the front desk said they would refund me, she said "That isn't my problem. I am the manager and I am telling you I won't issue a refund." WOW! I have literally never been treated so bad anywhere in my entire life. Truely horrible.
