The hostel does NOT have a warm water to take a shower and this was not indicated on the ORBITZ web site. The one-bed room has only a wall fan. There is no air-conditioner that makes your August nights with 80 F outside too bad to sleep. During the day is also impossible to stay in the room because it is too hot there. It is written on the ORBITZ web site that a room has a fan, but I did not pay attention to that. They did not write that a room has NO air-conditioner. Otherwise, I would never rent such a room. The beach is 7 walking min, but the water there is full of see weeds and stingrays. You can take a ferry to Isla Mujeres and swim there, but it is 1 hour of ride + it is only several times per day and sometimes there is a big line that you can not get on the ferry. If you rent a car, please, be aware that local police will stop you without any reason and will ask you to pay $160 for nothing. This happened to me near a very expensive hotel Villa del Palmar Cancun on my way to the Hostel Punta Sam. I told the owner about this story. He told me that the police is bad in Cancun. The good about this hostel, that they have a very honest and kind housekeeper Marco. He makes that hostel much better! However when we went there we were given a very small make shift room which can barely accommodate a single person let alone a family. There were literally no room for a suitcase to keep. So when we mentioned this we were asked 2400 Pesos more for a room which doesn't have a curtains but it was named as Private room. We told the owner politely couple of times but we were told bluntly that's how it works there. Finally the third time the owner's wife understood and gave couple of rug clothes for curtain. About the room cleanliness, the maid doesn't seem to enjoy her work, always complaining attitude. She wants the customers to help her in cleaning our room for which i am paying tips. The water is so scarce and there were too many times it got off in middle of bathing, etc. The management is more concerned only on the money not on customers comfort and their basic needs. We ordered four chicken quesadilla breakfast worth 60 Pesos from the owners as they seem to own a restaurant. The hosts are absolutely delightful. They help you out, are so generous and treat you like their family (they also have their kids there which makes the vibe even more family oriented) without overstepping on the fact that we are young and on vacation. It was such a cozy and comforting place to be at. Abir (the owner's wife) cooks like a queen. She is such a generous person who will make you feel so good and comfortable. Bassel was like family too. He helped us organize our trip to Chichen Itza, always gives you the best local tips such as taking a bus for 8 pesos instead of a Taxi. Such a wonderful couple with beautiful kids. They stayed with us and had a fun time with us. The best part is the people you meet there and how social you can get. The place is big, spacious, so clean (one of the cleanest hostel I have been to although my standards were not as high since the price is so good. Pleasantly surprised). Fully recommend this place for all of the above and more. My stay can't be written down. It was lived. We still are all in contact through this hostel. We have a Facebook group ! Muy cerca se puede tomar el ferry a isla mujeres. El personal es muy amable. Hostellissa oli (2016/51) perusparannus käynnissä joka aiheutti jonkin verran melua, samoin usean hengen huoneissa oli bileitä jotka kestivät aamuyöhön. Taksi Cancunin hotellialueelle kestää noin 20 min, Isla Blancalle n.15 minuuttia. Rannasta pääsee lautalla helposti Isla Murejeksen saarelle (Puerto Juarezista myös nopeammalla lautalla). Wifi toimi aulassa ja puutaharhassa/uima-altaalla mutta ei huoneessa.
