8/10 Good

"Did not use amenities. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel was nice. Room was ok standard, slightly outdated. Parking is underground and tight. Hotel grounds very well kept. Neighborhood surrounding hotel during the day is nice but at night was very dangerous. Saw a fight, homeless begging, people smoking crack and shooting up. Hotel is very nice stay inside."

"This property needs some attention. The beds were comfortable. The curtains were off the hooks, stained and had holes. Walls were marked up, furniture damaged and carpet threadbare. Toilet seat loose and build up of grime under it. Room smelled musty. Build up of grime behind tv and long black hairs in bathroom sink and on bed sheets. The breakfast was lovely, however the limited staff could not keep dishes, oatmeal, coffee, milk and cream replenished. This was not all their fault as some guests took more than was necessary from the supply filling large thermoses with coffee. The orange juice was watered down significantly. The swimming pool had a scum line that needed cleaning. There was only 1 working elevator which was problematic as there were a lot of guests over the long weekend."

"We stayed here with a 10 month old infant and I couldn't have been happier. They let us check in early without a fee, staff were extremely friendly and we never had a single issue. We had breakfast vouchers and they were more than accommodating for the high chair and our choice of table for dining to make life easier for us. We had a crib provided in our room for baby to sleep in as well. I would recommend this hotel to anybody staying in downtown Toronto and I would not hesitate to stay here again next time I visit."

"I loved the location on a quiet street but very convenient to get around town from there. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Housekeeping did a very good job. Breakfast buffet was sufficient to please, I feel they should try to keep the food hotter as it appears to cool quickly from guests constantly opening the lids. I had no need of the exercise room but I would think it could be brighter."

Toronto Don Valley Hotel and Suites

2/10 Terrible

"We have stayed at the Don Valley every three months for three years. At first, it was good. The last year on several occasions we had no hot water. This was finally better the last few times. This past stay was horrendous! We had people on our floor using profanity, vulgarity and a fight broke out in the hallway outside of our door. I had to call down to the front desk to get security up to our floor. Security came and it was better for only an hour. The whole night there were doors slamming, women yelling and drunk people on our floor. I spoke to the front desk on our way out in the morning and they said they are dealing with some difficult people. She didn't offer us any compensation and just smirked and rolled her eyes when I said this was unacceptable and that we will never stay here again. I have video recording on what we were hearing during out stay. I will be sending it to the hotel and to TD Rewards. I want a full refund for our night's stay and an apology and it was very unnerving. No longer a customer after three years staying here every three months."

"Property is nice. Hard to see from the road at night as there's no lighting or lit signs at the road. The staff were pleasant and met our needs. Room was a nice size and comfortable, but we paid more for a patio and there was no chairs or table on the balcony. It's a nice size balcony though and nice view. We had the AC on through the night as it was a very warm day and water leaked all over the floor. We didn't notice this until the morning but thankfully we didn't have anything set on the floor there or it would have been soaked. We used towels to mop it up and advised at check out. My husband, son and I all coughed a lot through the night so I'm not sure if it was something in the room or maybe b/c of the leaking AC. Rooms were quiet, comfy bed and had everything we needed."
