Otherwander Soho Pod Hotel (ADULTS ONLY)

10/10 Excellent

"I wasn’t sure what to expect of this stay as I have never stayed at a pod hotel before but I was really impressed by this place. I booked a double bed pod for a little extra place and i found the pod very comfortable and cozy. Plenty of room to sit up and the bed was comfy. A little tricky to get in and out of but that’s to be expected really. Booking and access was very smooth. The toilets and showers were very clean and the pod was pretty soundproof. I had an excellent nights sleep. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone who just needs a place to sleep as it’s a bargain compared to other London hotels"

Royal National Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The staff stood out. They were so helpful and friendly. Our room was clean the beverages were stocked up for our two nights stay. The beds were very comfortable. The only negative aspect was the long line of people waiting to store their bags. gave up and stored them elsewhere at a cost. However the hotel is huge and really busy so this is not a criticism of the hotel. We would definitely recommend staying there. We are going to go back."

Marlin Waterloo

8/10 Good

"The location is the best thing about the property. It is 5-10 min walk away from the underground station and has many subway lines that you can take. The property is modern and next to a Pret for a quick coffee in the morning and a short walk to many nice restaurants. When we arrived, check in was fast but when we got to our room, I was disappointed that I did not get the king bedroom that I reserved. Upon speaking with the front desk, I was told that the king beds in London are smaller than in other countries. I am from Canada and saw the photos, the king size bed was huge. I insisted that there was an error made and was eventually told that I was 'upgraded' to a room with a kitchenette but a smaller bed. Sorry, that is hardly an upgrade. If I wanted a kitchen, I would have booked that room. You should have asked me before making the change. No apologies from anyone for the error. Not impressed. We were rushed to get changed for a show and we lost 30 min from this error. Rooms are cleaned every second day so with our three night stay, we didn't mind. Only problem was the cleaner left a dirty rag on the night table. I've stayed all over the world in many different hotels and this has never happened. Lastly, every morning at 9am, someone knocked on our door. First morning, they had to change the shower head due to mold. Second day, the cleaner knocked. Bed wasn't bad but the pillows were standard pillows for a king bed. Overall, it was okay but I may not stay here again."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Hylands?

The best time to visit Hylands is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is at its most pleasant.

During this period, you can expect warmer temperatures and longer daylight hours, which are ideal for exploring the Hylands Estate and its expansive parkland. This allows for comfortable walks through the formal gardens, around the lake, and along the woodland paths.

Couples often find the summer months superb for enjoying outdoor activities together, such as picnics on the grounds or attending the various events and open-air concerts that frequently take place at Hylands House. The estate's well-maintained grounds are particularly attractive in full bloom.

Families also benefit greatly from a summer visit. The warmer weather makes it easier for children to enjoy the adventure playground and the woodland trails without needing heavy layers.

Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?

Many Expedia hotel reservations are refundable, provided that you cancel before the hotel's cancellation deadline – this is often within 24-48 hours of your scheduled arrival. If you have a non-refundable booking, it might still be possible to receive a refund if you cancel it within 24 hours of booking. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. For maximum flexibility, use our "Fully refundable property" filter during your search to find the right Hylands hotel for you.
