"Nice hotel, close to Ala Moana mall."
Loved the hotel, will go back there again. Hotel is clean and very close to Ala Moana Mall. Only minor problem was I accidently dropped a remote from the bed. It went under the bed, went to retrieve it and I found a wrapped up tissue with dried blood on it. Quickly threw it in the toilet and flushed it. That was on day 6 of 9 days I was spend there. I had my room cleaned on the 4th day and still was missed. Had worked in Hotels and I know Housekeeping are on time constraints to clean a room but at least look under a bed for 10 seconds. Front Desk staff are great and I will go back there again. Oh and its only a 5 minute walk to Don Quijote which is a great shopping area which is my favourite. Bus transfer area is right there and convenient.

"Hotel by the beach"
I booked the Ala Moana suite for the fist part of my stay and a standard room for the latter part. As I was an Expedia Gold Member, the hotel upgraded me to the suite for my entire stay which was great. The hotel staff were very friendly. The two things I would say could improve is the condition of the room and the room cleanliness. The room is a bit old and could be updated (but still generally comfortable). The room was quite clean at the beginning of my stay, but I found that the daily cleaning wasn't thorough enough. While the cleaners changed the towels and replaced toiletries daily, I don't think they thoroughly cleaned the bathroom (such as washing the shower) the whole week I was there.

"Great price with beautiful rooms"
The exterior fools you...with all the construction and not very memorable staff (besides the bartender), not to mention horrible parking arrangements...the room was amazing! Comfortable beds, even the pull out sofa, clean rooms. Room temp was amazing especially during this hot summer days.

"construction very close to hotel - loud at times"
In addition to construction noises, had at least 5 false fire alarms within two days, told to leave via stairs - then had someone else announce it was false and they were working to resolve problem. Room was ok but had a kind of musty smell.

Beautiful hotel, great design and feel. Probably better suited for singles/couples than families, but enjoyed staying there with my older children. Hawaii is quite expensive in terms of eating out and drinks such I didn't eat in the restaurant although it looked amazing.

"Beautiful but busy."
We came back after many years for our second honeymoon. Much was the same fabulous experience that we first had: great room with ocean front panoramic vistas, just across street from sandy Waikiki beach with Diamond Head nearby. But it also was a little too busy for our tastes (especially after coming from Hyatt Regency Maui). Too many high-ends shops, hard to make dinner reservations (and VERY pricey), and grand lobby was turned into some kind of bazaar. Also, room service menu was far more limited than we would have liked. But overall, especially with upper floor views from our lanai and proximity to heart of Waikiki beach, we had a very good experience.

"Booked this for the included breakfast"
This was the only hotel in the area I could find that was a nice hotel and included a breakfast. The only downfall was that they charge $30 to valet each day and the parking they do have is first come first serve. There weren't any available spots so make sure you call and reserve them ahead if you drive. Other than that, I used the Banyan parking garage across the street which was only $20 per 24 hour period. It is a 2 or 3 minute walk from Waikiki beach and so close to restaurants. The hotel staff was very friendly and very helpful. Other than the valet losing my car keys the first night of our stay, everything else went perfect. They even gave us a hospitality room for 30 min the day of our flight home. Since checkout time is 11 am, and our flights were in the evening, we were able to play at the beach all afternoon and use the room to shower and change for our flight.

"One night in Honolulu "
Finished off a carnival cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii, last port being Honolulu. Stayed one night. The hotel is a $20 (15min) drive from the pier. And a $40 (30min taxi to the airport. Arrived at the hotel 5hours early and at no fee was easliy able to check in/drop off our luggage in a secure room until checking into the hotel (which I was able to do an hour early). the hotel is Located a very short walk (5min) to Waikiki beach. Some of the ocean view rooms may have a direct ocean view however the majority have city views or "interrupted" ocean views. The island has a very strong Asian presence but is full of multiple cultural influences which is definitely reflected in its wide variety of food options. Also if you like shopping your in luck because this area has TONS of stores from low to high name brands most stores open at 9am. Overall the area is very clean and safe. There is a small homeless presence (but not aggressive at all) and lots of police. Due to everyone's "time adjustments" and "jet lag" it seems to have a healthy night life as well as a large early rising crowd. the hotel staff are very polite and knowledgable. The concierge desk had lots of tour and excursion options. the north shore of the island is slighlty less crowded and carries a different vibe as most of the things to do there are nature related activities. North shore is about $200 cab ride away so renting a car or a tour is a better option. The hotel has an enterprise rent a car place right inside.
