Check in was very quick, had early access to our room. Beds were fabulous but found the quilts too hot and heavy, fortunately we had a quiet room so were able to have the windows open overnight and turned the heating off. It was difficult to have a bath as the plug had come off the chain so had to prise the plug out with a teaspoon! Second nights sleep wasn't so good due to loud guests slamming doors and talking loudly in the corridor (wish people would have more respect for others). Breakfast was much anticipated but disappointed. Tried the full English first morning but left most of it, bacon was nice, sausage was not, fried egg ok but the little round toast it came on was like bullets, black pudding was awful, beans ok. Second morning tried the fresh fruits and toast and honey. All the staff we came across were lovely, friendly and helpful and the cleanliness of our room and public areas was in my opinion one of the best I've encountered - full credit to their team of cleaners, I hope they get the praise they deserve. We are returning in just over a months time but leaving the breakfast this time in favour of the Weatherspoons next door.
