"The Taeikan was in a perfect location for getting to the train station and to visit the shops in the area. The food was exceptional!!!!The ambiance was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed the onsen. "The staff were nice and friendly, the room was a bit on the older side, but it was very large and japanese style with the beautiful view of the mountains. The only downside was the distance of the hotel from the station. We had to walk for a long time with a carry on as it only showed 15 min walk on google map, but we ended up walking for well over 25 min and it was very steep. I guess we had to get a taxi. The arent many restaurant close by so we ended up adding the dinner and breakfast whichw...

"What a magical hotel complex! The buildings and grounds are absolutely beautiful and impeccably maintained. The hospitality we experienced was like none other. The hotel was easily accessed via the Tozan train. It's a short walk to the hotel from Miyanoshita Station, but there is a hotel shuttle available if preferred. We stayed in the Forest Wing and the rooms were comfortable (firm mattress!) and clean. The breakfast was delicious with amazing presentation on China and silver dishes. So many things to explore - the outdoor gardens, the onsen, the pool, the gym, the museum, and the coffee/beverage room. I would come back to Japan/Hakone just for this stay! Arigato gozaimasu!"
