The room was perfect and spacious. Kitchen had everything I needed to cook. Bathroom supplied toliries. Staff was gracious and always available. Light fare breakfast of fruit and fresh pastries was great way to start the day. 2 higher end restaurant next door and many with in walking. Right down ally to bus( cheapest way to get around island 20 pesos) and could walk to Punta sur, Garrafon park, kin ha. It’s not a party spot or resort vibe but that’s not what I wanted and provided an oasis away from tourists traffic areas. I loved it. The people were so helpful. The front desk also helped me with getting a ride around the island to take some pictures from the taxi driver. The complimentary breakfast was simple and delicious. They had an espresso machine, pan dulce and fruits available. It could be much better, which is why it doesn't deserve 5 stars, but read my review to see why. The staff, for the most part, is very friendly. We were greeted by the attendant and he (JaAir (no idea how to spell it) was really nice. The lady who cleans the room and makes breakfast was also really nice. For our family, this side of the island is quieter, and that was amazing. If we had stayed on the north side of the island, we would have left. What would make this place better, update the rooms, they were clean but you can tell the salt air wears them. The air conditioning was great. Dishes and stuff were fine. The shower head should be replaced. It says spa, but it didn't have a spa feel. We reserved the hot tub, but we had to figure that out; they never said how that worked, so that was a bit annoying. The breakfast is not breakfast, it is a few snack breads with some fruit, wish it was more, or had a community dinner one night a week. The pool is nice, but dang, it is too cold. The ocean was much warmer. Rent a golf cart first thing and use it all week. This is off the beaten path. Eat at Ulan within a mile walking. Hotwater takes longer than it should, so be patient. We had a one bedroom unit with a view of the ocean which was amazing - we could see the eastern Caribbean side of the island and also the Cancun shoreline from our unit. The views from the balcony were breathtaking. It is located in the southern part of the island so you would need to rent a golf cart or utilize taxis to get around. We love having the golf cart to explore the island so we were very happy with the location. The staff was wonderful and friendly very helpful with any questions or needs that we had.
