***False Advertising Beware!!***
We were excited to book this cabin from the pictures listed on the posting. 30 minutes before we arrived, i got a text from the owner, Matthew, giving us the door lock code. But when we arrived, we could clearly see that the pictures did not match the actual cabin. We immediately texted Matthew back and asked to speak to someone because there had been a mistake. After 30 minutes sitting in the rain and no response, we called the rental company’s customer service line. The first person basically hung up on us because her shift was over. It took another 30 mins to get in touch with another rep. We explained again that there must’ve been a mistake in our booking because the pictures did not match the cabin. The second rep did offer to move our cabin to something smaller and way outside of the area we wanted to be in. After agreeing to stay at the current cabin, she promised the property manager would contact us to discuss how they will address our issue. That was Saturday 6/3. We’ve been messaging them every day since 6/3 just asking to speak to someone. Today is 6/8 and we still haven’t heard back from this company, Family Time Vacation Rentals. We noticed that they changed the photos of the cabin to reflect the actual cabin and not the ones that were displayed when we booked it, without even addressing our issue. The bottom line is, they posted pictures of nicer/bigger cabin but stuck us with a smaller/older/musty cabin. This was a bait and switch and false advertising.

We enjoyed our stay in this cozy cabin. It was very clean and well equipped. Nice handy spice rack in the kitchen. Beds were comfy. We really loved the outdoor deck, and also the Smart TV.. watched movies and our favorite cooking shows.

Nice property and great location
This is a nice property in a great location with easy access to the amenities of Duck Creek Village and the ATV trails. The living area is comfortable and the kitchen table is large and can accommodate a crew. The only caveat I would mention is that the stairs to the second floor are winding and steep, not idea for children or anyone without pretty sure balance. Not an issue for us at all, just something to note. The front porch is covered and a great place to listen to the rain and watch the world go by.

Charming Cabin in the Woods
A clean, comfortable, secluded place for a winter getaway. Furniture and beds are good quality, kitchen is well-supplied. Efficient, practical layout. Lovely wood stove keeps nearly entire cabin warm (with supplementary portable heater for one bedroom). Located in beautiful, dense fir forest, far enough from neighbors for privacy. Minor suggested improvements would be brighter lighting and updating bathroom. Overall, very good value, would happily return.

I wish I could give them more stars
The cabin itself was wonderful. It sits on beautiful property and it has all the comforts of home. It was pretty secluded and cozy. We had our two children and two dogs. Here is my reasoning for the low star rating: We stayed three nights. I took two days off work for the vacation, which is not easy for me to do. The listing said the property was pet friendly. I was drying some clothes in the laundry room off of the living room after playing in the snow the first night we were there when I noticed my dogs eating a blue substance on the floor. Around the substance I noticed a few rodent droppings. I told my husband, and he found a box of Decon in the laundry room. I called the vet from our home town, and they told us to give the dogs hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting. Sure enough, when the dogs puked, there was blue rat poison in their vomit. We felt that we managed the situation, and because of the snow, we decided to stay the remainder of the time as to not disappoint our kids. I told both the property manager and the owner about the poison. Lisa, the property manager said she contacted a friend who is a vet and that friend told her our 75 pound dog would need to eat 4 ounces to experience lethal results. The owner just said he was sorry and would check with the manager. Both he and Lisa said rat poison shouldn’t be In the pet-friendly home. We also a have a 15 pound dog who was with us. The final night we were playing a board game when a blue color caught my eye. There was another block of rodent repellent behind the fridge. At this point, I contacted both the owners and manager again. Lisa said that she thought a guest placed the rodent poison in the home. I told her it was their responsibility to know what was in the home. Fast forward to later that night, and my son finds another block in the hallway. We assumed our dog found another block and drug it out into the open. At this point, I decided to search the home. I found a block of poison in each bedroom. In all, we found 7 blocks of mouse/rat poison. That stuff is not only lethal for dogs, but it can be poisonous for humans. It was under our beds! So if a guest did place it there, it is your responsibility as a property manager to make sure the home is safe and clean. If you are unaware of it, then that means you aren’t cleaning very thoroughly. Now we wait. It can take 5 days after exposure for dogs to show illness. I’ll be sending my vet bills. I want refunded.

Family Getaway
My family and I enjoyed our stay here. We enjoyed the outdoor deck and fire pit. Deer stopped by to say hello. Off roading trails, lake and a few stores nearby. Hiking trails, caves and other scenic views not so far away.
