Family and dog friendly, the property provides a superb base for exploring the Peak District National Park without needing to rely on the car. Often regarded as the capital of the Peak District, Bakewell is the area’s most vibrant and well-connected town. It offers an unrivalled mix of countryside access, historic interest, and everyday convenience. From the front door, guests can stroll along the River Wye, join countless walking and cycling routes, browse independent shops, or enjoy the town’s cafés, restaurants, pubs, and famous Monday market — all just moments away on foot. Bakewell’s central position makes it the perfect hub for exploring the wider Peak District. Iconic stately homes including Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House are close by, while both the rugged Dark Peak and the gentler limestone landscapes of the White Peak are easily reached.
