And if you want to know the most symbolic promenade of Alicante, we suggest you to go to the Explanada, where you can find craft stalls and local products. There you will also be surprised by the Carbonell House, a building that shows the wealth of the old textile manufacturers of Alcoy during the time of the First World War.  
  
For its part, the Alicante City Hall surprises visitors with its historical character, the Solomonic columns and the two towers that can be seen on its facade. The Central Market has modernist elements in its structure and brings us closer to the products of the sea and the orchard of Alicante.  
  
The Basilica of Santa Maria, the Co-cathedral of San Nicolas or the Monastery of Santa Faz represent the Christian influence that the city received over the years. Also, walking around Alicante is the best way to discover the different vestiges that have left all these civilizations throughout history.  
  
We suggest you continue this wonderful tour of the capital of the Costa Blanca visiting its prized beaches. In the city, we can choose from a multitude of them such as San Juan, Almadraba, La Albufereta, Postiguet, Saladares-Urbanova, the emblematic Tabarca Island or the coves of Cabo de la Huerta. In addition, since 2016 you can also visit the beach of Aguamarga in the company of your dog.  
  
Every year, the beaches of the Costa Blanca are awarded by the European Union with the Blue Flag distinction, which internationally recognizes the quality of its services and the beauty of its waters and sand.  
  
And of course, a trip cannot end without a tour of the typical gastronomy of its territory. In Alicante, the gastronomic offer is very varied and complete, since each of its dishes is based on the renowned Mediterranean diet. Fresh fish, seafood, fruits, vegetables and greens are the raw material of traditional recipes such as caldero, olleta alicantina, cocas or turrones. Special mention should be made of its rice dishes, internationally recognized with the distinction "Alicante City of Rice".  
  
Wine is another of Alicante's strong points, since the Alicante Protected Designation of Origin offers a wide range of wines, thanks to its diversity of climates and the different varieties used for their production.
