When is the best time to go to Takao?

The best time to go to Takao is during autumn, specifically from late October to late November, when the maple leaves turn vibrant shades of red and gold. This period offers the most picturesque scenery, with the hillsides around the Kiyotaki River transforming into a stunning display of colour. The weather is generally crisp and pleasant for walking, making it ideal for exploring the area's temples and hiking trails. For those planning a romantic getaway, visiting Takao during autumn is particularly special. The natural beauty of the changing leaves provides a beautiful backdrop for walks along the river or visits to historic temples like Jingoji and Saimyoji. You'll find many spots great for capturing memorable photos together. Travellers who appreciate nature and photography will also find this time of year unbeatable.
