Located in the heart of Southwold, 17 Market Place and The Vault is a beautifully restored five-bedroom property that combines historical charm with modern comfort. Sleeping ten guests across two connected properties. Dating back to 1716, this property offers a unique mix of old-world character and contemporary comfort. Guests can enjoy stunning views of the market square as an idyllic backdrop for a truly memorable stay. 17 Market Place and The Vault can also be booked separately. Search for: 17 Market Place (sleeps eight) or The Vault (Sleeps two). 17 Market Place is a characterful four-bedroom maisonette that sleeps eight. Inside, you’ll find a spacious sitting room, a well-equipped kitchen/dining area, and two bathrooms, one featuring a free-standing bath and walk-in waterfall shower, the other an en-suite with a bath and hand-held shower. Views of the market square and an allocated parking space add to the appeal of this elegant town-centre home. On the ground floor, with a separate entrance from the same enclosed terrace, The Vault is a former banking vault transformed into a charming ground-floor retreat that sleeps two. It is a stylish one-bedroom annexe. Fully self-contained, it includes a double bedroom, modern bathroom with a bath and shower over, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area, perfect for guests seeking extra privacy or minimal steps for access. Dating back to 1716, both buildings have a fascinating history, having served as a merchant’s house, private academy, and bank. Today, it offers a unique and memorable base to explore Southwold, just moments from the market square and a short stroll to the beach.
