Hotel St. Helene

508 Rue Chartres, New Orleans - Map
"Wasn't bad for peixe"
Only thing is if you have an early flight in you can call and ask for early check in and they will tell you they will accommodate if they have a room but they only have 16 rooms total and are slow to clean so you won't be able to check in until 3-4pm

We loved the Hotel and the staff. 90% of our trip being so wonderful was the Hotel staff. I really cannot say enough about them. We actually were very sad to leave them, it felt as if we were leaving friends we have known forever. Cannot wait to come back!!!!!

Dauphine Orleans Hotel

415 Dauphine St., New Orleans - Map
"Great location "
Dauphine Orleans Hotel is in a great spot, far enough away from Bourbon street, which is crazy! But close to everything at the same time. Our room was clean and spacious. There was a good continental breakfast every morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. If ever we are in New Orleans again (which I do hope as it is a great place) we would stay at The Dauphine again with no hesitation.

"Nice Hotel, A little small, Good Location"
The hotel was really quaint and characteristic, however, the room we had was on the small size but for the price we paid in the location we were in we really didn't mind. the hotel was on the North of the French quarter and only 2 blocks from Bourbon street. Only other thing was the bed was a Queen but was pushed up to the wall so it felt smaller than it was. maybe something to consider when looking at room sizes Initially we caught the public bus (E2) from the airport and dropped us on just outside of the French Quarter so we decided to walk: this was a wrong decision as it was hot and humid so as a tip get an Uber. The shuttles you pay from the airport will cost you more if you are in a 2 or more party than an Uber which cost us $34 for the trip back to the airport (we learnt our lesson). The food and culture was a great experience and a really nice place to eat is the Oceana which wasn't on any tourist info sites but had queues of locals all night at the door the food is that good. Also the Napolean House is a great lunch place to eat - try the Itailian Sub Po-Boy with a Pimm's Original Cup!! To die for! As a to do activity I MASSIVELY recommend doing a swamp tour - it was amazing and we was amazed at some of the facts that our tour guide told us. All tour guides live in the swamps somewhere and have grown up either on or around the swamps so they truly our experts!! Can't praise this activity enough! Overall, this was a great trip and we wished we had longer there!

Hotel Royal

"55 Steps"
Great courtyard... Lobby has no life... Bland black and gold lobby interior... Wish it shared the feel of the interior courtyard. 55 steps to loft room, but fantastic flight of wooden steps.

"Room without a view"
This was my first stay at Beinville House. I have been Hotel Monteleone Loyalist for decades and wanted to give their sister property a visit. Upon arrival, Valet was overwhelmed, once at the front desk things went smoothly, The Elevator is tiny if you have any luggage and there's anyone else there. Upon opening the door to my room I was hit with a stale musty smell. Once the Door closed behind me I felt like I was in a Coffin. There were NO windows in the room and with the damp smell and signs of mold on the ceiling in the bathroom I almost checked out. Instead, I turned on the vent in the bathroom and got the AC going while propping the door open. Within an hour I was either acclimated or it was tolerable. I'm not sure I'll be back, I'll definitely always Prefer Hotel Monteleone, and will ask for a different room location. My recommendation, Avoid room 235!
