"Lovely historical hotel"
This hotel has so much character with lots of history. Set in the perfect location, Royal Street, amidst lovely shops and art galleries, it is right in the hub of things! we booked the standard room and although on the small side it was very clean and the beds were very comfortable with beautiful linen. Pillows were excellent!!

"Amazing staff in the heart of the French Quarter"
Location is key in this case. Once the valet parked my car, I didn't need it again until I went home. I saw something new and interesting every day without any driving. The room was nice, and very clean. There are two pools and a lovely courtyard. The staff are unbelievably courteous! Every need was met with speed, professionalism, and great warmth. I will definitely revisit Hotel Provincial!

Hotel St. Helene

508 Rue Chartres, New Orleans - Map
"Great location without the craziness of Bourbon St"
Friendly staff - simple room. Missed the coffee machine in the room though, had to go to lobby. Also, there is no elevator, so make sure you are fit to walk up the stairs. Not a problem for most, but a shock to some.

Dauphine Orleans Hotel - New Orleans Hotels
Rating: 3.5 Stars

Dauphine Orleans Hotel

415 Dauphine St., New Orleans - Map
"Great location and great staff!"
The room was very large, clean and well appointed other than a lack of a dresser for some strange reason. Being less than 2 blocks from Bourbon Street is perfect. We were well situated for exploring the craziness of Bourbon, eating at our favourite restaurant Oceana Grill (yummy!), taking excursions and doing a bit of outlet shopping. We had a balcony room and the noise was minimal when the doors were shut for the evening. We got to enjoy 2 celebratory brass band parades going right past our hotel as well a fireworks display on September 23rd. I was celebrating a special birthday and the staff went the extra mile by leaving chilled bubbly with glasses to celebrate the occasion! The pool area, though small, is well laid out , with lots of towels, and any passing staff made sure we stayed hydrated by offering us cold water (for free! how rare...). We will stay at the Dauphine anytime we return to NOLA.

Inn on St. Peter

1005 Saint Peter St, New Orleans - Map
"Just the right walking distance from Bourbon St."
Nice big room for five people max. 2 queen beds and 1 bathroom. The red brick walls and high ceilings made the room very quiet and gave it a lot of character. The building is old so there are 2 wall ac units that struggled to keep the room cool at 70.

Rating: 2.5 Stars

Hotel Royal

1006 Royal St, New Orleans - Map
Great place in a great location, on beautiful Royal Street in the French Quarter (lots of cute shops and galleries) but just outside the craziness of Bourbon Street. I liked the courtyard and the fact that it wasn't a cookie-cutter hotel, but the room was still modern and comfortable. Would go back!

"Old=World Charm"
I had booked with Expedia, found a reasonable room rate and booked it. Unfortunately,on arrival we found out that the room had no window, a little tidbid information that should have been mentioned by Expedia. The hotel itself is located in the border of French Quarter, i.e. not as noisy and crazy as the center. We considered that a blessing. The hotel itself is beautifully detailed, colors, décor, comfort. The staff very friendly and helpful. They upgraded our reservation to one with a window, exiting onto a flower patio. Very nice! My only wish was for a firmer mattress and a small icebox in the room. They had a very nice bar and a pool area with a small salt water pool, Pretty and idyllic. I would go back. Sabina
