Great location, and the hotel bar is very nice. Encountered a few issues during our stay: room was not cleaned one day, the battery in the room lock died making it so key cards did not work, and we're unable to get breakfast one morning because the chef hadn't arrived yet. All issues were responded to in a friendly manner and we received a complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience.

"Great location & atmosphere"
This hotel has a real feel of New Orleans. Our room, the courtyard and stairs, and the balconied building all had great atmosphere. The location was perfect--we walked everywhere and felt quite safe. We really enjoyed our room, and the occasional noise from our fellow guests night-time returns didn't bother us as much as make us feel like we were in a "happening" place. We really enjoyed our stay, and the staff was absolutely the best. Their helpfulness, availability, and knowledge of New Orleans couldn't have been better. I'd give the hotel a "5" except it's an older building and therefore the rooms may not be as modern as some folks would like, although it suited us just fine.

"Quiet/pleasant hotel close distance to attractions"
I stayed at the Lamothe House Hotel for 3 days and really liked the calm and quiet atmosphere in this particular location. The hotel is walkable distance to attractions in the French Quarter areas- i.e. Bourbon Street etc, but since it was really cold the particular weekend I was visiting I used lyft and uber to navigate. The garden area with the water fountain and lounging chairs were quaint, unfortunately due to the cold weather I was not able to take advantage of the outdoor grounds. I loved the history behind the hotel, the grandeur room with the high ceilings and simplistic design, and the quaint and quiet atmosphere.

"Good value for your money"
The room was very large and the balcony was wonderful. The included breakfast in bed was delicious. The shower never truly got hot, but you could not beat the location. I will definitely stay there again!

"Nice hotel with some charm a block off Bourbon St"
I enjoyed this hotel. It was close to another hotel where I had to attend a conference, but it was significantly more affordable. The rooms were clean, and the bed was comfortable. The staff was also helpful and friendly. It is located a block off Bourbon Street, so it's not quite as noisy as hotels right in the midst of the action, but you can still hear music and such from all the activity. That didn't really cause a problem with me for sleeping. The hotel is also close to lots of restaurants and the fun of the French Quarter.

"Beautiful hotel close to the action"
What a beautiful hotel with old world charm, a friendly and helpful staff and an awesome bar. If you are coming to the French Quarter, you should stay here. Rooms are small, but beautifully appointed and clean.

"Old New Orleans Charm"
We'd been wanting to stay here for years, and we're so glad that we finally did! The place is beautiful, and the staff is top-notch. Sharon, who was working the desk when we arrived, was incredibly friendly and absolutely full of information about local restaurants and points of interest. The hotel's location is ideal, right in the heart of the French Quarter. The front porch features cast iron tables and chairs, as does the gallery above. This is a great place to relax with a beverage of choice and maybe a cigar, if you're so inclined. Our room was lavish and quite comfortable, and we slept like babies. You can walk to just about anywhere in the Quarter, and streetcars, buses, and taxis can get you anywhere else for a reasonable fare. New Orleans is one of the greatest cities in the world, and staying at the Cornstalk Hotel is like a trip back in time. Prior to showing us to our room, Sharon had made arrangements to have a beautiful, welcoming birthday greeting for my wife. I had only mentioned the birthday in passing, so that was a sweet surprise! I drive a MINI Cooper, so we were able to park right in front of the hotel, just inside the fence after which the hotel is named. We would stay here again without hesitation.

"Nice, Quaint Hotel"
Very nice, quaint hotel in the center of the French Quarter. Room was comfortable and location made it accessible to all the sites and activities of a NOLA experience. With just a 1 block walk to Bourban St. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the St. Marie. The bed was very comfortable and the atmosphere, architecture was old world and historical. The lobby was nice, the staff was very personable and helpful, and the court yard was a nice place to sit and relax. We did not eat in the on site eatery nor indulge in room service so can't comment there. Overall, was a very nice time in the Big Easy.
