Getting Around: Easy. Surrounded by trams, cabs, buses & trains, it makes getting in, out & around the city extremely convenient. If you're not a fan of walking, there is a tram stop at the corner of Elizabeth & La Trobe St, just a 2min walk away from us. Most importantly, all trams within the city grid are FREE. Just look out for the "FREE tram zone" signs. No problems hitching a cab or getting on a bus on A'Beckett or Elizabeth St if you would like to head out of the city. If you plan to take a train, the Melbourne Central railway station is just a 5min walk away from us. If you drive, the nearest paid parking lot is available at “58 Franklin Street Melbourne VIC 3000” just a 3 min walk away from us. Alternatively you may look online for other suitable parking options. If you just need to park your car temporarily for an hour or so, then you may observe the paid street parking signs around us. Other Things to Note: A representative will provide you with the SELF CHECK-IN details. This pad accommodates 4 adults generously but a max of 6 overnight. Any more than 4 adult guests overnight will attract an extra AU$29 per night, per additional guest. The sleeping arrangement for the 5th and 6th adult would be on a 3-seater sofa bed which folds out to a double. After checking out of a bigger house with friends, we stayed on and needed something smaller. This did the job. Check in was easy, although a bit of a nuisance having to carry luggage after picking up the key from the mini mart around the corner. Not sure why the onsite concierge can’t be used? The apartment was clean, but looked like it was cleaned in a hurry which was unexpected considering check in and check out times are so strict. Excellent communication, easy to check in and check out. Only there for a few days but was central too the trams and the shops. Highly recommend for the convenience of the location. I made comment that the room is well used, no doubt because of the popular location.. just a couple of things missed by the cleaning between bookings.. but did not lesson our enjoyment of our stay. Walls were dirty, some areas hadn’t been cleaned, e.g. table top, laundry area. The small balcony was cluttered and dirty. And the bed was very uncomfortable.
