Trip North Lit Up our Spring Break
Amazing place to stay. We had a blast as a family! Everything the description says is true and it was perfect for us. Our last night we were even gifted with spectacular views of the Northern Lights. We could not have asked for a more perfect family spring break!

Adorable and kids had a blast.
The ship kept the kids entertained for hours while we relaxed by the fire. Close to the Dells but also private and out in the woods. Great weekend.

Neat experience
It was a neat experience to do once. It is VERY rustic. I also felt it was pricey for what it is. Cleaning it ourselves was not a huge deal. I was a little nervous not knowing what cleaning supplies were there because it was already a tight squeeze in our car, coming from out of state with 2 kids and 2 dogs, you don't have a lot of extra room to pack cleaning supplies too. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find there is a broom/dustpan, mop, small vacuum (which doesn't work the greatest but it gets the job done), and some cleaning wipes, paper towels, and dish soap that had been left behind by previous guests. The cabin was cleaned by the previous renters, but you could tell it hadn't been "deep cleaned" in a long time. There were cobwebs and dust all over the ceilings, behind the air conditioner, under the bed, and all over the windows. I cleaned the cobwebs and every single inch of both cabins before we checked out, so hopefully, the next guest will be pleased. The bathrooms are a bit farther away than you realize. It was nice to get a good walk, but If you have a small bladder like me or young children, you WILL be squatting in the woods a lot! The ant infestation in both cabins was the most annoying though. We did take advantage of hiking some of the trails on the property as well, which was fun. We also spent almost every night on the upper decks watching the stars. (we live in the country so this isn't unusual for us, but someone coming from a large city will really like that perk!) It is farther away from the Dells than described. It usually took us between 15-20min to get someplace, depending on which part of the dells you're going to. It's in a very safe area though and we felt safe at night, even with having two 10 yr olds in the bunkhouse by themselves. Overall, the kids really enjoyed it. It's nice that it's pet friendly, there's running water, a microwave, an air conditioner, and a mini fridge. All perks that you usually don't have when camping.

Great novelty and theme camping.
We enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed getting to be kids with our kids. Joel was responsive and helpful. Our only only concerns were with the cleanlyness of the ship and water access. We are all for cleaning up after ourselves, but it was concerning that we didn't know if the cabin would be clean when we arrived. After receiving the welcome email, past the point of cancellation, we learned that the "self cleaning" ship ment that there was no cleaning service and no one checking it before or arrival. We would be the ones to discover the condition of the ship when we arrived. This added a level of stress that we weren't expecting. The first hour of arrival was spent wiping down the ship just in case. We're no strangers to camping, but this was new to us. Our camping cabins have always been checked before our arrival. The access to water is great. Honestly, as a mom with a baby in tow this was a perk for us. I just don't remember in the listing it mentioning having to continuously empty the drain bucket. For the cost of this camping experience I think having someone check the cabin before arrival would have drastically increased our rating. Again it was super cool theme and a fun one time experience for the kids.

Great weekend!
My boys were beside themselves when they saw where we were staying. They had so much fun on the ship and the Dells were so close which was awesome when the rain came! Great hiking trails on the property, quiet and peaceful. The ship was tidy and the air conditioner sufficient. We brought an extra box fan for the bunk room and the boys left the door open to keep it cooler at night. They want to try the Hillbilly Hilton next year!
