Enjoy your meals outside on the large deck amidst nature, followed by a nice evening at the outdoor fire pit and a good rest on comfortable beds. There is a lot of space in the living room with comfortable furniture where you can enjoy conversations with loved ones in front of the warm pellet fireplace or relax in front of a good movie. Wall art shows the most popular area attractions with QR codes embedded in the images, which take you to detailed descriptions and directions on how to get there. A round game table is perfect for board games or poker night. The updated kitchen has brand new granite countertops and includes modern appliances and the cookware needed to fix a legendary mountain meal. The master bedroom downstairs has a large walk-in closet to keep your gear handy but also out of the way. It also has a door to a separate outdoor deck, on the other side of the house where you can enjoy quiet mornings before heading off on your national park adventure. An electric heater ads extra warmth when needed and there's a wall mounted tv with Roku services for additional entertainment. Upstairs are two bedrooms with vaulted ceilings, where you'll find a queen bed on a log frame and another electric heater. Across the hall is one of the most beloved rooms in the house, a larger bedroom with built-in bunk beds, each bed identified with a different local animal and comfortable mattresses. Simply put, the room is fun for kids and retains the historic cabin theme while providing a lot of space for sleeping. The bathroom is largely remodeled, and a hot shower is a great way to end a hiking adventure out in the national park. There is a heater with a timing switch that keeps the room as warm as you would like it while you are in there. Upstairs, there is another half bath to help guests avoid having to use the stairs late at night. Outside is a covered patio with large cushions to sit and enjoy the abundance of forest and nature outside. Next to the covered deck is a large open deck with two picnic tables, rocking chairs, and a propane BBQ for unforgettable outdoor meals. Next to the deck is an outdoor fire pit with three bench swings for loved ones to enjoy the great mountain tradition of sitting by an open fire and letting the storytelling and campfire song roll forth. Just behind the fire pit are two trees that will one day be ancient sequoia trees, but are now just children in tree years. Across the street, you'll find the edge of a meadow, with towering trees and a seasonal stream running through it. It is a great place for kids to chase frogs and encounter small wildlife. There are a number of large sequoia trees on the other side of this meadow. It offers a very pleasant and serene additional space that you and your loved ones can enjoy while still being within view of the cabin decks and yard. There is a closet downstairs with a washing machine and dryer for your convenience. Lastly, there are the national parks. You are so close to the Kings Canyon Visitor's Center, Stores, and restaurant that you can walk to it if you are willing to stroll over a hill. The Nation's Christmas Tree, and the second largest tree in the world (General Grant Tree), is one mile from the cabin and an amazing place to hike around. A short drive to the north will take you first to the Converse Basin Sequoia Grove (the world's largest grove, but much of it logged to stumps in the 1800s) and one of our favorite places, Hume Lake. There you can enjoy a nice sandy beach with boat rentals, fishing, swimming, and a nice trail that goes all the way around it. There is a private camp there that maintains restaurants, stores, and a gas station, all with public access. Also, a mile from the cabin is Panoramic Point, where you can see a transect of the entire mountain range from the western foothills to the towering mountain range of the eastern ridge and the enormous Kings Canyon right in front of you. This is a must-see destination for a truly unique perspective of this wonder of nature. Further down the road will get you down into the Valley of the Kings River, which has cut America's deepest canyon. Don't miss seeing our favorite stops at Boyden Cavern, Grizzly Falls, Roaring River Falls, and Paradise Valley, all are right on the road or short hikes from it. It is truly a beautiful and amazing place. When you're done with King's Canyon, head south along the General's highway past numerous sequoia groves and excellent viewpoints to Sequoia National Park, only 50 minutes away. Giant Forest, The Sherman Tree, Tonopah Falls, Crescent Meadow, and Morro Rock top the list of destinations there. Hiking trails to high mountain lakes and through ancient forests of giant trees are as abundant as the pinecones on the ground. The cabin is the most convenient location to stay possible to enjoy both of these national parks and more information on the top sites is available in the cabin in the guidebook provided and other literature kept in the main room. ## Property amenities ### Ski - Cross-country skiing nearby ### Internet - Available in the cabin: WiFi ### Parking and transportation - Electric car charging station on site - Parking on site ### Kitchen - Blender - Coffee/tea maker - Cookware, dishware, and utensils - Electric kettle - Kitchen island - Microwave - Oven - Paper towels - Refrigerator - Stovetop - Toaster ### Dining - Dining table ### Bedrooms - 3 bedrooms - Bedsheets provided ### Bathroom - 1.5 bathrooms - Hair dryer - Shampoo - Shower - Soap - Toilet paper - Towels provided ### Living spaces - Dining table - Fireplace - Living room - Separate dining area ### Entertainment - DVD player - Games - Smart TV - Video library ### Outdoor areas - Barbecue grill - Firepit - Garden - Outdoor furniture - Patio ### Laundry - Laundry facilities - Washing machine ### Comfort - Air conditioning - Heating ### Pets - No pets allowed ### Suitability/Accessibility - If you have requests for specific accessibility needs, please contact the property using the information on the reservation confirmation received after booking. - Handrails in stairways - Hardwood flooring in public areas - Thin carpet in public areas - Smoking not allowed ### Services and conveniences - Change of bedsheets (on request) - Change of towels on request ### Location highlights - In a village - In the mountains ### Things to do - Bicycle parking - Birdwatching nearby - Ecotours nearby - Fishing nearby - Hiking/biking trails nearby - Horseback riding nearby - Hunting nearby - Kayaking nearby - Motor boating nearby - Mountain biking nearby - Mountain climbing nearby - Rafting nearby - Rock climbing nearby - Sailing nearby - Sledding nearby - Spelunking nearby - Swimming nearby - Wildlife walks nearby ### Safety features - Carbon monoxide detector (host has indicated there is a carbon monoxide detector on the property) - Smoke detector (host has indicated there is a smoke detector on the property) - First aid kit - Fire extinguisher - Deadbolt lock ### General - Bed sheets changed on request - Bicycle parking - Double-glazed windows - Electric car charging station - Garden - Locally-owned and organized tours and activities - Towels (changed on request) - Unit size: 1,608 square feet - Water-efficient toilets ## Similar properties ![Exterior](https://images.trvl-media.com/lodging/100000000/99710000/99704200/99704198/5a0429fb.jpg?impolicy=fcrop&w=469&h=201&p=1&q=medium) ### Historic Cabin inside Kings Canyon National Park Kings Canyon National Park - Kitchen - Free WiFi - Outdoor space - Parking available 10 Exceptional 22 reviews CA $519 CA $923 total includes taxes & fees Oct 31 - Nov 1 [](https://www.expedia.ca/Hotel-Search?startDate=2025-10-31&endDate=2025-11-01&selected=99704198&PinnedHotelID=99704198&HadPinnedHotel=true®ionId=-1&adults=2) ![Exterior](https://images.trvl-media.com/lodging/109000000/108360000/108355300/108355206/ecc65705.jpg?impolicy=fcrop&w=469&h=201&p=1&q=medium) ### Redwood Grove Cabin inside Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park Wilsonia - Kitchen - Washer - Dryer - Free WiFi 10 Exceptional 17 reviews CA $551 CA $945 total includes taxes & fees Oct 8 - Oct 9 [](https://www.expedia.ca/Hotel-Search?startDate=2025-10-08&endDate=2025-10-09&selected=108355206&PinnedHotelID=108355206&HadPinnedHotel=true®ionId=-1&adults=2) ![Property grounds](https://images.trvl-media.com/lodging/90000000/89680000/89672600/89672506/58134f03.jpg?impolicy=fcrop&w=469&h=201&p=1&q=medium) ### Kings Cabin in Wilsonia Hume - Kitchen - Outdoor space - Barbecue grill - Fireplace 8.2 Very good 24 reviews CA $527 CA $811 total includes taxes & fees Oct 7 - Oct 8 [](https://www.expedia.ca/Hotel-Search?startDate=2025-10-07&endDate=2025-10-08&selected=89672506&PinnedHotelID=89672506&HadPinnedHotel=true®ionId=-1&adults=2) ![Fridge, microwave, oven, stovetop](https://images.trvl-media.com/lodging/73000000/72530000/72521500/72521445/57d94ee9.jpg?impolicy=fcrop&w=469&h=201&p=1&q=medium) ### Enchanting View, Sequoia/Kings Canyon PKs Getaway Miramonte - Kitchen - Washer - Dryer - Air conditioning 9.6 Exceptional 14 reviews [](https://www.expedia.ca/Hotel-Search?startDate=2025-10-20&endDate=2025-10-21&selected=72521445&PinnedHotelID=72521445&HadPinnedHotel=true®ionId=-1&adults=2) ![Property grounds](https://images.trvl-media.com/lodging/28000000/27120000/27116300/27116254/0573fe0e.jpg?impolicy=fcrop&w=469&h=201&p=1&q=medium) ### Minutes to Sequoia & Kings Canyon Natl Parks with Wi-Fi, and No Cleaning Fee. Very roomy for our group of 7 (4 adults, 3 children), even navigating the one shower was easy. The kitchen was large and well stocked, the common areas / family room were cozy and comfortable. My family loved the wood pellet fireplace and playing games in the evenings. Being in the park was a huge bonus to avoid traffic on incoming roads. Walking to the General Grant tree and visitor center was great! The entire neighborhood of Wilsonia is very unique and special. My family loves National Parks, and this was a very memorable and wonderful accommodation for our Kings Canyon / Sequoia trip. ##### Carolyn M. The furnishings were so comfortable and high quality. The owners were very easy to communicate with. A walk around the neighborhood is a must to experience this incredibly special historical community. Great location for exploring both King's canyon and Sequoia. Great collection of DVDs which made for fun family movie nights after we spent the day hiking and exploring. Kitchen was very well equipped, linens were soft. Aug 8, 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### SISTERS IN THE SIERRAS What a wonderful place to kick off a bucket-list trip to Kings Canyon/Sequoia/Yosemite National Parks! Our group included 2 sets of sisters, (my older sister and I, ages 80 and 85, and my 2 daughters, ages mid-50's. The younger girls wanted to go hiking in Yosemite, the older 2 of us wanted to recreate a trip to the area our grandparents had done in the early 1950's. Sequoia Splendor cabin was comfy, homey, clean, and wonderfully decorated. The fact that the cabin was right in the heart of the entire area was a big plus. We toured all day (loved the KCNP Skyway, and brought back food to sit around the kitchen and enjoy the house, You have a gem of a house that can be enjoyed by many. Thank you for your kindness and for helping making this a trip of a lifetime. It was chilly the nights we were there, a great excape from Texas and Arizona heat! ##### Janice E S. Stayed 2 nights in Jul 2024 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Jennifer N. Jul 20, 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Kings Canyon Cabin, large family approved! First off, the owner was great with communication. This cabin was the largest we could find in the area to accommodate our large family. It was obvious how much time was put into remodeling the property. And it was so well decorated! We used every amenity there from the spacious bathroom to the fire pit with swings. We ate at the indoor dinner table with bench and on the outdoor patio with a grill. The community was a little difficult to navigate upon arrival but once we got our direction straight we found it easy. The cabin was perfectly located for exploring the parks. It was wonderful to come back from a day of hiking and exploring to a hot shower and warm comfy bed. I’ve spent a lifetime camping in Sequoia and Kings Canyon and while I have absolutely loved every time this was a special trip with grandma and grandpa and having the comfort of a cabin made it all possible. ##### Jennifer N.
